Kate Beckinsale doesn’t reach for a pricey product to keep her skin glowing. Instead, the actress who stars in the Amazon Prime original series, The Widow, uses an affordable soap that can be found in drugstores and grocery stores alike. Continue reading to learn what product Beckinsale uses and what else she does to make 46 look like 26.
Kate Beckinsale uses Cetaphil soap
Beckinsale uses a tried and true product recommended by dermatologists to keep her skin smooth, soft, and glowing. Soap from Cetaphil. As someone with the budget to buy pretty much any product on the market — the actress has an estimated net worth of $16 million — the fact that she uses a bar of soap under $4 says a lot.
“I use Cetaphil soap, no kidding,” Beckinsale told Today in Oct. 2018 during a conversation about her go-to skincare products.
At the time of publication, Amazon sold the brand’s bar soap, Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar, for $3.57. It’s fragrance-free and hypoallergenic meaning it won’t irritate the skin.
Beckinsale isn’t the only celebrity with plenty of funds at her disposal who opts to use affordable products. Jennifer Lopez, who has an estimated net worth of $400 million — she makes roughly $40 million annually — revealed in a past interview she uses a grocery store moisturizer.
She works out six days a week
During an interview with Women’s Health published on Dec. 18, 2019, Beckinsale, who has a 20-year-old daughter, Lily, with ex-husband and fellow actor, Michael Sheen, shared details about her workouts, saying the physical benefits are simply an added bonus to what it does for her mentally.
“Now exercise is almost more important to me moodwise,” Beckinsale told the publication. “The other aspects feel like a great side effect.”
Beckinsale, who is on the cover of the publication’s Jan./Feb. 2020 issue, exercises six days a week with Brad Siskind, a trainer at Gunnar Peterson’s gym frequented by many celebrities.
Over the course of 45 minutes, she completes a full-body circuit and a cardio circuit followed by some intense stretching. Watch the video Beckinsale posted to her Instagram on Oct. 11, 2019, to see just how flexible she is.
And for her, going to the gym isn’t just about staying in shape. It’s is about relieving stress that manifests itself physically.
“I’m very connected to my body, so if I’m going to experience stress, I’m probably going to experience it physically,” Beckinsale said. “So it’s usually a good idea for me to go do something physical to get rid of it. I kind of have to think of myself as a horse or something—time for a run around the paddock.”
Beckinsale doesn’t drink alcohol
Aside from working out six days a week, Beckinsale eats fruits and vegetables and stays away from alcohol and caffeine. That’s another thing she and J. Lo have in common. In fact, Beckinsale’s not one for alcohol and never has been. “I’ve never actually had an entire glass of anything alcoholic,” she once said, according to Delish.
This explains how she’s able to get up in the morning and make her way to the gym. She’s not nursing a hangover from the night before.
