Kate Middleton and Prince William Are Taking a Break From Their Royal Duties for Quality Family Time
Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge are poised to take a break from their royal duties, but don’t worry — it’s not the same kind of break that Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex took. The Cambridges are taking the same time off that they have in past years to spend time with their family.
Their kids have a school break
After a busy few weeks of engagements, Prince William and Kate will spend a number of days with nothing on their calendar so they can enjoy their children’s school break.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s school has a half-term break from Feb. 17 to Feb. 21. This time of year, the Cambridges typically have little scheduled so they can spend time with the kids. Sometimes they take a holiday and other times they stay close to home.
There are no details about how the family will spend the week off, but they’ve been known to stay at their Amner Hall country home and have gone on a ski vacation in the past.
Prince Charlotte and Prince George attend the same school
Prince Charlotte and Prince George now attend the same school, Thomas’s Battersea school in London, so their schedules line up for the break. George has been attending Thomas’s Batterseas since 2017 and Charlotte had her first day there in September 2019. Little Prince Louis is likely to enjoy some more time with his siblings during this time.
The school’s headmaster, Simon O’Malley, shared with E! News at the time Charlotte started: “We are delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother, Prince George, at Thomas’s Battersea. We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”
The break comes at a perfect time after the Megxit drama
With all of the Prince Harry and Meghan exit drama that no doubt created a stressful situation for the Cambridges, it seems they are due to have some time off. They kicked off the year with a number of engagements and there are no signs that they’ll be slowing down.
Next up for the Cambridges is a visit to Ireland from March 3 to March 5, followed by the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on March 9. They are also reportedly planning a visit to Australia in support of the communities devastated by the bushfires and drought. They’ll, of course, be at Princess Beatrice’s wedding on May 29.
They’re plenty busy these days and their hectic schedules are reportedly bringing them closer together. “The Cambridges are busier than ever since Harry and Meghan left the UK. You’d think their hectic schedule would put a strain on the marriage, but it’s actually brought them closer together. Working as a team and supporting each other is essential at a time like this, and that’s exactly what they’re doing,” a source told Us Weekly.
