Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s Relationship Is Reportedly ‘On the Mend’ After Lilibet’s Birth, Source Says
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s relationship has been in the news constantly since before Meghan even married Prince Harry back in 2018. Rumors about the two women started swirling shortly after Meghan and Harry’s wedding; there were constant reports that Meghan and Kate did not get along.
That’s been the case for several years now, though Meghan did make a point to call Kate a “good person” in her Oprah Winfrey interview. And with Meghan and Harry recently welcoming their daughter, rumor has it that Kate and Meghan are finally patching things up.
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s relationship didn’t seem to improve after Meghan and Harry moved
When Meghan and Kate first met, the press and the public were expecting the two women to become best friends. Kate and Meghan attended Wimbledon together, and it was clear from their body language that they had a good relationship. However, over time, rumors swirled that things were colder between the two than was originally thought.
Over the next few years, the British press continued putting Kate on a pedestal, while reports about Meghan were often more negative. Though neither ever admitted to a feud, the two hardly spent any time together. Still, they never said a bad word about each other.
When Meghan and Harry moved to the United States, Meghan revealed to Oprah Winfrey that Kate is a “good person” and that Meghan wanted to set the record straight about a few things (including the rumor that she once made Kate cry). Still, Meghan didn’t speak badly about Kate, though the duchesses didn’t seem to get any closer after Harry and Meghan’s royal departure.
Kate Middleton has reportedly been reaching out to Meghan Markle since Lilibet’s birth
Rumor has it that Kate and Meghan are growing a bit closer — perhaps distance does make the heart grow fonder. Meghan recently gave birth to Lilibet Diana, her second child with Harry, and the couple’s first daughter. And according to reports, Lilibet’s birth has helped Meghan and Kate establish a better relationship.
Express reports that Meghan and Kate have been in touch more often since Lilibet was born and that a source claims Kate has “been reaching out to Meghan a lot more” since the birth.
Sami Wunder, a relationship expert, also told Express that she believes Meghan and Kate’s relationship is “on the mend.”
“For the last month I haven’t seen anything new and negative come up from Harry and Meghan after Lili’s birth and I think Kate is making amends and trying to pacify Meghan.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have yet to introduce Lilibet to the royal family
Harry has been back to the United Kingdom twice since he and Meghan moved to the U.S. Meghan has not yet returned, likely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And the couple has not introduced their daughter to the royal family. (Well, not in person at least.)
It remains unclear when Harry and Meghan might return as a family to the U.K. Now, with the coronavirus’ Delta variant on the rise, it seems even less likely that Harry and Meghan will take their young kids over to the U.K. any time soon.
