Did Kate Middleton Receive Push Presents When She Gave Birth to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis?

Carrying a baby and then giving birth is a monumental task that should be praised until the end of time. Duchess Kate Middleton had to carry on her royal duties while experiencing hyperemesis gravidarum –a severe type of morning sickness while carrying all three of her children –Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Though having a healthy baby is a reward in and of itself –it looks like Prince William made sure the wife felt extra special after she gave birth to the little royals.

Did Kate Middleton recieve push presents after giving birth to all three of her children?

Push presents are a relatively modern phenomenon. However, the royals aren’t strangers to push presents. In fact, royal etiquette expert Myka Meier told The Sun that push presents have — “become a tradition in the royal family.” Meier explained, “Traditionally the push present, or gift given to celebrate the birth of a child, would be given bedside on the day of the birth from the father to the mother.”

Prince William gifted his wife jewelry after she gave birth to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Meier revealed,

The Duchess of Cambridge received a present after the birth of her children: five-year-old Prince George, three-year-old Princess Charlotte, and it’s speculated she did for eight-month-old Prince Louis as well. When Prince George was born in 2013, Prince William gave his wife a circular pendant inscribed with their firstborn’s full name, George Alexander Louis. After Princess Charlotte’s birth in May 2015, Kate received a pair of £3,500 tourmaline, green amethyst and diamond earrings designed by Kiki McDonough.

Will Prince Harry gift Meghan Markle a push present once she gives birth to Baby Sussex?

We absolutely think Prince Harry will be purchasing Meghan Markle a push present. Meier told The Sun that she expects the gift will be a piece of jewelry. She said,

I think Prince Harry will get Meghan a custom piece of jewelry, perhaps with the date of the birth or initials of the new royal baby to make it extra special. From the beginning of their relationship, they have used jewelry to keep close, with the duo wearing matching bracelets while Meghan was in Toronto and Prince Harry was in London. I believe Prince Harry will give a piece of keepsake jewelry that will publicly be worn the week of the birth. I think it will be gold, the Duchess’ favourite metal for jewellery, and likely a necklace or bracelet.

How are push presents personalized?

Push presents are super personalized for each child. As a result, Markle will probably get her gift the week of Baby Sussex’s birth because Prince Harry will want to make sure it’s perfect and engraved with the royal baby’s name. Meier explained, “For recent royal births, the push present was likely not given bedside, as to engrave a name on a piece of jewellery as William did for Catherine, would likely take more time because he wouldn’t have known the gender ahead to engrave ahead…but would likely have been given to her within days of the birth.”
