Kate Middleton’s Best Fashion Moments Ever
Ever since she first began appearing in the royal spotlight for her relationship to Prince William, Kate Middleton has been nothing short of a fashion icon. Here are some of the duchess’s best fashion moments through the years.
1. The Jenny Packham gown she wore to the Palladium Theatre
On Nov. 24, 2017, Middleton stunned in a baby blue embellished Jenny Packham gown at the Royal Variety Performance at the Palladium Theatre in London. As E! News pointed out, on this particular evening, we could even see the beginning of the duchess’s baby bump.
2. Pippa Middleton’s wedding
Who can forget the outfit Kate wore to Pippa’s wedding? She wore a blush pink puff-sleeved dress by Alexander McQueen and nude pointed court shoes. The duchess topped off the ensemble with a fabulous hat fit for royalty and Kiki McDonough earrings.
She was easily considered one of the best dressed at the wedding.
3. Her visit to the Natural History Museum in July 2017
In July 2017, Middleton visited the Natural History Museum in London wearing a blue Preen dress by Thornton
4. Her trip to The Foundling Museum
On Nov. 28, 2017, Middleton visited The Foundling Museum to tour the facility and play with the nursery children. She looked absolutely adorable in a polk-a-dot, vintage-styled Kate Spade dress. She rounded out the outfit with some maroon suede pumps.
5. Another beautiful Jenny Packham dress
Middleton attended the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition at the Natural History Museum in London back in 2014 (it was the competition’s 50th anniversary). She presented the award to 9-year-old Carlos Naval.
She looked gorgeous in yet another pastel blue Jenny Packham dress and L.K. Bennett Agata bow sandals.
6. Black velvet if you please
In December 2011, Middleton wore a very chic black velvet Alexander McQueen gown to The Sun‘s Military Awards in London.
“Kate’s black Alexander McQueen gown – the same designer as her wedding dress – had frill trim around the bust and a fishtail-style skirt,” said Daily Mail. “It was so long on the five-foot, 10-inch Duchess, that she had to keep hitching it up to keep it from scraping on the ground.”
7. Her poppy print Prada dress
In August 2017, Middleton wore a bright and cheery poppy print Prada dress with nude pumps to visit the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace to honor Princess Diana, just a day before the anniversary of her death. Middleton wore poppies as a symbol of remembrance.
“It’s most closely associated with Remembrance Day in the U.K., akin to Veteran’s Day, a November holiday commemorating those who died in WWI,” says USA Today.
8. Kate’s youthful Amanda Wakeley gown
In October 2011, Middleton wore a vintage Amanda Wakeley gown to a charity gala at Clarence House in London. The Huffington Post noted that the Duchess could be seen “glad-handing and preening in a gorgeous mint green (or is it seafoam?), empire-waist dress with sexy straps.”
She wore her hair half-up to show off a pair of gorgeous diamond earrings.
9. Kate in bright red
Light blue may be Kate’s go-to color, but she can definitely pull off a bright, passionate red as well. In April 2017, the Duchess wore a tight Armani skirt suit and beige Rupert Sanderson pumps to the opening of The Global Academy.
“The skirt set had a few sportswear influences, including a zippered front and dart detailing along the bodice, but the overall fit and finish was polished—a departure from previous suits by Luisa Spagnoli and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, which felt more military-inspired,” said Vogue.
