Will Katie Morton Return to ‘Bachelor In Paradise’? The Reality Star Says ‘Never Say Never’ — Sort Of
As Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor approaches in early 2020, many viewers are checking in with their fan-favorite couples made in 2019. But on Dec. 10, Chris Bukowski and Katie Morton — one of the engaged couples on Bachelor in Paradise Season 6 — announced their split on Instagram. And although many fans are still reeling from the news, others are wondering what this means for Morton and Bukowski’s involvement with the franchise moving forward.
As we all know, Bukowski is the reigning champion in most-Bachelor Nation appearances. But will Morton return to Bachelor in Paradise moving forward? Recently, the 26-year-old opened up about coming back. But don’t expect her to make an appearance in season 7.
Chris Bukowski and Katie Morton split six months after filming ‘Bachelor in Paradise’
Six months after filming Bachelor in Paradise — and three months after their televised engagement aired on ABC — Bukowski and Morton decided to go their separate ways. In a joint statement on Instagram, the couple wrote:
One of the many lessons this life has taught us is that it’s okay to be stubborn in the pursuit of happiness. To fight for what is real and good, and that often times the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.
We’ve reached a point in our story where we agree it’s best to go our separate ways. We have chosen to love and respect each other as friends because that’s the base of our relationship, and it’s what is most natural for us. We are incredibly thankful for the support we’ve received from our family, friends and everyone who supported us throughout our journey – from paradise to this moment.
We are grateful for everything that we’ve learned in this chapter, and are hopeful for what is to come in life and in love for both of us.
Katie Morton reveals whether she will ever return to ‘Bachelor in Paradise’
On Dec. 15, Morton delved into her recent split with Bukowski when speaking with Dean Unglert and Jared Haibon for iHeartRadio’s Help! I Suck at Dating podcast. And during the candid conversation, the hosts asked Morton what she plans to do next.
“Well, I’m going to be taking care of myself and my dog,” she said, referring to her Maltipoo. Morton then revealed whether she would ever return to Bachelor in Paradise.
“Would I ever do Bachelor in Paradise again? I would not,” Morton said. Then when Unglert and Haibon expressed their doubts, Morton clarified her statement. But even so, the breakup is too fresh to even consider going back to the reality series.
“I’m gonna never say never,” Morton said. “But the answer that is now, is a no.”
Katie Morton shares her struggles on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 6
Although Morton’s recent breakup with Bukowski probably means she won’t appear in Bachelor in Paradise Season 7, it seems unlikely Morton will want to return later on. Still speaking with Unglert and Haibon, Morton compared her experience on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor with Bachelor in Paradise Season 6.
“Paradise was harder for me than Bachelor,” Morton said. “The Bachelor was so much easier for me because I just felt like I wasn’t as tired. Paradise was hot and exhausting. Bachelor, I felt confident and fine. Once I left, I was was like, ‘It’s probably my time to go.’ And it was cool. Paradise was like… whoa, stressful.”
She then attributed her — comparatively — easy time on The Bachelor to leaving early in the season. And as a result, Morton didn’t have to endure the stressful environment caused by the final weeks.
“I didn’t make it that far, so I was just kind of chilling in the back,” she said. “I got let go right before all of the stressors came. And I just went on group dates and parties, didn’t do a 1-on-1. I was just hanging out.”
That said, Morton confirmed her stressful experience with Bachelor in Paradise wasn’t the case for everyone.
“Paradise for me was mental torture. But for other people, it wasn’t,” Morton said. She then revealed Hannah Godwin seemed to enjoy her time in Mexico, especially as Dylan Barbour “made her feel so confident.”
Meanwhile, Morton was on the opposite side of the spectrum. She said, “I was like, ‘Uh oh, here we go. We’re back. What’s Chris thinking today?’ So I think for everyone it was just so different.”
Regardless, the hosts told Morton she came out of Bachelor in Paradise much stronger than when she went into it. And for that, Morton is grateful.
“I’m really thankful for that, I’m really happy,” she said.
