‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ will conclude after 14 years on television

Kardashian West shared news about the show ending in an Instagram post on Sept. 8.

“It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” she wrote, continuing:

After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.

Our last season will air early next year in 2021.

We are so beyond grateful to everyone who has watched and supported our family these past 14 incredible years. We will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever. Thank you for joining us on this crazy ride!!

Kourtney Kardashian has wanted to leave ‘KUWTK’ for a while

Kourtney has been outspoken about her desire to break away from filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Throughout season 18, Kourtney took a major step back in what she agreed to film. She explained those boundaries to Health Magazine, saying:

I’ve been taking less time with filming and, in general, with work. My sisters don’t like when I say ‘setting boundaries,’ but it’s more about a schedule. I’m trying to put energy into things that are fulfilling and enjoyable. I try to make myself available to my kids to really be a mom. And I want to be in charge of my time and schedule in order to do the things that are bringing me happiness.

Regardless of past arguments with her siblings, it seems like Kourtney filmed for the latest season of KUWTK. The Kardashian-Jenners have been filming in quarantine during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Fans think Kourtney Kardashian was the last to know about ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ ending

Fans were confused by Kourtney’s comment — some even thought she was excluded from the decision to end the series.

“I found it odd Kourtney shared on her story and said ‘I’ll gather my thoughts and share them soon,’ which implies she only recently found out,” one fan said on Reddit. Other fans thought Kourtney simply meant what she said, writing: “Maybe it really just means she needs some time to gather her thoughts.”

Some fans assume the Kardashian-Jenners have known about the show ending for weeks. Others seem to think the family was just made aware of the decision. Regardless of how and when they decided to end KUWTK, they likely made the decision together as a family.

At the time of publication, Kourtney has not said more regarding her thoughts on the show’s conclusion.
