‘Sorry to This Man’, but Keke Palmer Is Never Talking About Her Love Life

“Sorry to this man” but those waiting for Keke Palmer to talk about her romantic life are going to be sorely disappointed. Palmer has been in the spotlight for most of her life. Her breakthrough role came from starring in the hit film Akeelah and the Bee back in 2006 when she was just 13 years old. From there, the talented actress went to star in a whole host of movies and television shows including the popular Nickelodeon show, True Jackson, VP.

But, despite Palmer having a well-established career, 2019, in particular, seemed to be a great year for her. The 26-year-old was added as a permanent host to Strahan, Sara, and Keke, a popular morning talk show hosted in Times Square. Formerly known as the Strahan and Sara show, Palmer was added to the permanent cast after her guest-hosting skills garnered incredible feedback from viewers. In addition to that, Palmer returned to the big screen this fall and joined the star-studded ensemble cast of Hustlers.

The Vanity Fair interview that resulted in sorry to this man

But, perhaps one of the most memorable things that Palmer did this year was actually completely unintentional. While completing a lie detector test interview for Vanity Fair, the actress accidentally turned herself into a hilarious and wildly popular meme. The Jump In! star was asked who the man in a photograph she was shown (who was former Vice-President, Dick Cheney) was but she was unable to identify him. “I hate to say it, I hope I don’t sound ridiculous …I don’t know who this man is. I mean he could be walking down the street and I wouldn’t… I wouldn’t know a thing. Sorry to this man,” the 26-year-old responded.

Almost immediately, Twitter began making the response into a hilarious meme. Palmer herself joined in on the fun a reposted a few to her social media pages. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, she reflected on the experience of becoming a meme. “It’s so funny to me because sometimes people laugh at things that weren’t meant to be funny, and sometimes people laugh at stuff you do mean to be funny. I was absolutely, genuinely being myself and saying, “sorry to this man.” I was laughing with my mom a little while ago about how I sound so much like my older sister when I said that. It’s the Palmer vibe, I guess,” the Joyful Noise star confessed.

The actress is not talking about boyfriend status

With all the attention Palmer has been receiving this year, her millions of fans are more curious than ever to know more about her personal life. This, of course, extends to her dating life. Fans of the actress got especially interested after The Bachelor star Mike Johnson asked her out when he was a guest on her talk show shortly after his romance with Demi Lovato fizzled out. But despite the interest, Palmer has been candid about the fact that she plans to keep her dating life private.

“To me, it just really doesn’t have anything to do with what I’m trying to be about. For me, it’s about my art, what I’m going to give you, what I want to represent as an artist. If someone wants to create buzz about who they’re surrounded with…That has nothing to do with what I create. It just undercuts the focus on the work that I put out,” Palmer shared. We respect the actress’ desire to keep her private life private and we can’t wait to see what’s next for her career-wise.
