Kelly Dodd from ‘RHOC’ Makes a Salty Dig at Vicki Gunvalson on Instagram
Although Vicki Gunvalson from The Real Housewives of Orange County patched up what seemed to be an unrepairable relationship with Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador, she’s at odds with another former bestie.
Gunvalson seems to be playing a game of friendship “whack-a-mole.” Every time she smooths one relationship out, another one sours. Cast member Kelly Dodd used to be thick as thieves with Gunvalson until last season. Gunvalson set Dodd’s ex husband up on a date with a friend, but didn’t tell Dodd. The hookup led to the women fighting, ultimately never resolving their differences.
Dodd and Gunvalson seemed to be civil to each other throughout the season. But the two had a serious altercation during the reunion when Gunvalson eluded that Dodd had a drug problem. So did the two let things cool down or are they just heating up? And what did Dodd say about Gunvalson’s future status on the show?
Dodd wasn’t going to let go of the reunion
After the explosive reunion, Dodd continued to lash out at Gunvalson. In a November Instagram post, she discussed how she really felt about her former friend.
Someone suggested Dodd sue Gunvalson for alleging she did drugs. “Unfortunately we sign contracts that we can’t
Dodd insisted she was leaving if Gunvalson remained on the show. “I won’t be on next year if she’s on.. I will not sell my soul for this show.” She adds that she made it clear to Bravo about her stance on Gunvalson. Plus, she reiterated that she was a friend to Gunvalson, but Gunvalson stabbed her in the back.
Is this because of Dodd?
Did Dodd get her wish and did Bravo really demote Gunvalson? Gunvalson was demoted to the “friend” role on the show. “She’s been demoted, but she hasn’t agreed to take the offer,” an “inside source” told Radar Online. “Typically, the ladies are given a really short time, like five days, to either accept the offer from the network, or leave the show. There aren’t a lot of negotiations.”
The source said one reason is because Gunvalson’s storyline is no longer relevant. Plus the drama with the drug accusation against Dodd sealed her fate. “RHOC has been her whole life for like 15 years and she is the O.G. for a reason,” the insider said. “Now Tamra is going to be the longest standing housewife.”
Dodd throws some shade
Gunvalson denied that she’s been demoted on Twitter when someone posted an article about the rumor. “Unless you hear it from me, then it’s simply a rumor,” she wrote. “I am in negotiations.” When a fan pushed back, Gunvaslon said she’s the only one who knows what’s going on.
Jeff Lewis used his Sirius XM show, Jeff Lewis Live as a platform to ask Dodd if Gunvalson was demoted, Radar Online reports. Dodd and Lewis pondered if Gunvalson’s hefty salary was the deal breaker. “If I were NBCUniversal [Bravo’s parent company] or the higher-ups at Bravo, I would cut the bottom line. I wouldn’t be paying that b–ch that much money,” Dodd said. “When it comes down to it, she’s not worth that much.”
She also threw some low key shade Gunvalson’s way in a social media post. CBCBravo reposted a fan’s comment about wanting Gunvalson to return. Gunvalson replied that she was still in negotiations. Dodd picked up on the thread and simply wrote, “We’ve started filming.”
