Kelly Ripa’s Daughter Lola Consuelos Showcases Her Singing Chops
Airing for the first time for social media consumption, Lola Consuelos – Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelo’s middle child – posted a video of herself on Instagram singing.
Take a listen to Lola’s debut offering and find out what else she might be working on.
Lola just started at NYU this September
Kelly Ripa opened up back in September about how emotional she was feeling at dropping her daughter off at NYU for her first semester of college.
The 48-year-old told Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host Ryan Seacrest all about how it went helping Lola move into her NYU dorm this past fall. They spoke at the time on his radio show at the time about Ripa’s reluctance to let Lola run home whenever she’s feeling homesick, and with good reason.
“College is where you start establishing yourself as an independent person and I think when you send your kid away to college — if your kid stays local — you get all of the hassle of sending your kid away to college but none of the sympathy or empathy from your friends,” Ripa humorously said.
“Because the thing is you got into more than one school and when we sat down and discussed which school you should go to, this was my main concern. My main concern was I don’t know if you should be this close to home because I don’t want you using home like it’s your home. I want you to use it as an experience!”
College agrees with Lola
Lola, 18, is loving the college experience at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts’ Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, where she is expected to graduate in 2023. In fact, her older brother, Michael Joseph, 22, also attends the university.
A month after starting at the prestigious school, Lola’s mother was telling her guest co-host, Anderson Cooper, on Live! how much her daughter was loving school. In fact, how her daughter was pretty much born to leave home.
“She loves it,” the mother of three told Cooper in October. “When she was a little girl, like, 3 years old, she used to play dorm room in her bedroom. First, she played sleep away camp, then she played dorm room. So this is like a girl who was meant to live away from us. She was born to live outside of the house!”
The world can finally hear Lola’s amazing voice
Lola posted a video on her Instagram account, where she can be heard belting out Labrinth’s Jealous. In the video, Lola performs the first verse and the chorus of the song.
Lola’s family offered nothing but gushing support in their comments. Her mother Kelly cheered her on saying, “You are gifted.” Dad Mark said it with emojis, offering a series of red heart emojis. Her younger brother Joaquin, 16, said, “Wow!!! The best voice I’ve ever heard.”
Lola’s voice would most definitely get an “It’s a yes from me” if she were to audition for Simon Cowell. This is surely not the last we’ve heard from the talented artist.
