‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’: Khloé Revealed She’s Been Hungover On Christmas Day For Nearly the Last Decade

Khloé Kardashian revealed an inadvertent Christmas tradition of hers on last night’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. When discussing the 2018 Christmas Eve party, she revealed she had been hungover on Christmas Day for nine of the last 10 years as a result of getting drunk at the family’s party.

Khloé Kardashian hungover after annual Christmas party

Talking on the phone with her sister, Kim Kardashian, she said she hoped to be back to her “old self” being “wasted again” at the family’s Christmas Eve party.

“Last year was such a waste,” Kardashian said. “I was pregnant.”

Pregnant with her daughter, True Thompson, she couldn’t imbibe in alcohol at the party in 2017. Kardashian went on to explain how strange it felt to wake up sober on Christmas morning.

“But waking up sober Christmas morning was just so different for me. I’ve been drunk every Christmas morning for, like, 10 years straight.

Fast-forward to 2018 when Kardashian had a custom sparkly silver ensemble made for her daughter to wear to the family’s legendary party.

“Me and True are going to be so stylish for Christmas Eve,” Kardashian told her friends. The mother-daughter duo wore coordinating outfits complementing the snow-covered Whoville themed decor at the party.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West took over hosting duties from Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, explained in an interview for the show, that she had been planning the family’s annual Christmas Eve celebration since 1978.

But 2018 marked the first time she didn’t host the event. Kim Kardashian, the oldest of the Kardashian-Jenner kids, suggested to Jenner that she and her husband, Kanye West, take over the annual party, passing the proverbial torch as it were.

Jenner teared up talking about relinquishing hosting duties.

“The thought of actually not doing it at my house…It makes me so sad,” Jenner told Kim.

She also discussed the “magic” of making family and friends “feel so amazing on one night a year,” wiping away tears.

Jenner’s emotional response made Kim cry and likely drove home the point that the event isn’t just a party as Kim had stated during their conversation.

When Khloé drinks, she wants to get ‘buzzed or drunk’

In a 2016 interview promoting her now-canceled talk show, Kocktails With Khloé, the 34-year-old explained what her intentions are when she drinks alcohol.

“I don’t like the taste of alcohol like that, so if I drink, I drink for intent,” Kardashian said. “Like, I don’t care to just have a glass of wine. No, I want to get f**king buzzed or drunk.”

She continued, saying that she reaches for “vodka or shots.”

“That’s the point…It’s like, I’m normally good, but when I’m ready, I’m going to drink my vodka or shots. I’m going to drink,” she said.

Kardashian added that her mom likes to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. “My mom has a drink every night with dinner. That’s her thing, and that’s what she loves to do,” she said.

As for the rest of the family, they don’t drink much. Kim along with Kylie and Kendall Jenner aren’t “into it.”

She noted that Kourtney Kardashian used to drink in college but since having kids hardly drinks at all.

“During Christmas Eve when we’re having a party, she still has, like, a glass of champagne,” Kardashian said.

Kardashian’s Christmas Eve in 2018 meant spending time with the family while getting serenaded by John Legend who sang songs from his Christmas album while Kim and Kanye hosted the party.

As for whether or not Kardashian woke up sober or hungover on Christmas Day, we’ll have to wait and see what she reveals in upcoming episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
