Did Tristan Thompson’s Cheating Have a Negative Effect on Khloé Kardashian’s Motherhood Journey?

To say Tristan Thompson cause Khloé Kardashian a lot of unneeded stress would be an understatement.

During their relationship, the NBA player not only cheated on the reality star with multiple women, but he also continuously lied about his unfaithful ways.

Though she has since forgiven Thompson for everything he’s done, it took a lot for Kardashian to look past his unfaithfulness.

Not only because it took a major toll on her mental state, but because it had a negative effect on her motherhood journey.

Kardashian says she struggled to nurse her daughter after giving birth

Though she proved to be an amazing mother right off the bat, Kardashian’s motherhood journey came with many struggles.

While it was a trying time adjusting to life as a new mom, the Good American’s early days as a mother wouldn’t have been such a struggle if it wasn’t for Thompson’s cheating scandal.

During a sit-down interview for Kourtney Kardashian’s website, Poosh, the 35-year-old revealed that her first days as a mother were not easy.

Though getting used to raising a new baby was an adjustment in itself, Kardashian admits that she had a tough time nursing her daughter, True, when she arrived in April 2018.

“I did not feel safe breast-feeding,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star told her sister. “I always felt like she wasn’t eating.”

She added, “It’s not that easy. I remember I would eat the cookies, I would drink the stupid tea, I would be on this diet, I would pump every time she was napping, but it never stopped. … My breasts were, like, bleeding. It was horrible.”

Kardashian soon realized that her nursing issues stemmed from her being under a lot of stress, which her ex seemingly caused.

Days before her daughter’s arrival, Kardashian learned of Thompson’s two-timing ways after news broke that he’d cheated on her with multiple women.

With this scandal having caused a ton of drama, the reality star believes that it may have had a negative effect on her early days as a new mom.

“Pain wasn’t my problem,” Kardashian explained. “I wasn’t producing milk. I was under a lot of stress, there was a lot going on in my life at the time that I think played a part in why I wasn’t producing as easily, but I don’t know. Being alone in Cleveland by myself, not having family there. You’re also just trying to figure it out … for yourself.”

Kardashian’s difficulty nursery started to take a toll on her

The reality star went on to recall True losing weight due to her struggling to produce milk.

To make sure her daughter was getting the nutrients she needed, Kardashian began supplementing formula even though she felt like she was “smuggling drugs” into her house.

“The first time I had to give her formula, I felt so like I failed,” she said. “I felt so bad about myself.”

Though those feelings stayed with her for a while, they soon faded away once Kardashian stopped nursing altogether in July 2018.

She went on to admit that doing so felt like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders, and she could finally “enjoy” her time with True.

“I fought and fought to try and continue but then when I actually stopped, I didn’t realize what a relief it was for me not to stress and worry anymore,” she tweeted at the time. “Any sec I had of downtime I was stressing to produce more for the next feeding.”
