Khloe Kardashian Is Committed to Co-Parenting With Tristan Thompson and Dumping the Negativity of His Cheating ‘Mistakes’
Khloe Kardashian had a challenging year but she’s overcome the fallout of her then-boyfriend’s cheating scandal to arrive at a mature space to co-parent their daughter True in the best way possible. No doubt, it’s been a tough climb but she has been willing to move on and keep True’s best interests in mind.
Kardashian is focused on True
During the Dec. 2 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Thompson gave Kardashian some expensive gifts for her birthday in an effort to smooth things over. While she admitted that she felt conflicted, Kardashian stuck to her guns to keep things non-romantic.
Her fans weighed in on the situation on Twitter and Kardashian shared her thoughts on everything she’s been through with her ex.
When one fan tweeted: “I wished Tristan never messed up! Him and Khloé were so cute together! #KUWTK,” Kardashian replied: “Same babe. Same lol #KUWTK but we are coparenting so well right now. It is a great space to be in. Coparenting is such a hard space. Much respect to all coparenters.”
Kardashian defended Thompson
At the end of the day, Kardashian knows that Thompson’s involvement in True’s life is the most important thing. She defended him on Twitter, sharing: “He’s True’s daddy — she deserves to have a loving and awesome father. Tristan is amazing to her. she deserves that.”
She continued, explaining why it’s important to shed the negativity of the situation and move on as best she can: “We all make mistakes in life and none of us are perfect. I’m not gonna hold on to that negativity because it will only hurt myself and the energy that I get to my child.”
Kardashian draws co-parenting inspiration from her sister
Kardashian doesn’t need to look far to see a prime example of co-parenting done right. Her sister Kourtney Kardashian and her ex, Scott Disick, are absolute pros.
One fan tweeted: “I’m sure @kourtneykardash is a hugeeee help since she’s doing so amazing coparenting with Scott #KUWTK” and Kardashian agreed. She tweeted: “It’s so incredible to watch. And you don’t realize how hard it is until you have to go through it. But it’s a beautiful thing when you can do this for your children.”
They’re “moving into the direction of being friends”
During the episode, Kardashian shared that she wanted to be clear with Thompson about his expectations. In response to receiving a diamond necklace and a “promise ring” from her ex, she noted: “I am conflicted as to if I should keep it or not. I just really want to make sure there are no expectations. If I keep something is that misleading? It’s the sweetest, kindest gesture, but it doesn’t mean a necklace is going to fix everything.”
She told sisters Kim and Kourtney: “I don’t want to be with him, I don’t. I appreciate how nice he’s being to me and he should be nice to me. I want us to have a healthy, kind and loving relationship where True can see her mom and dad hug each other when they see each other.”
“I know that he’s trying,” she continued. “We are slowly moving into the direction of being friends as well as amazing co-parents.”
When Kardashian said goodnight to True over FaceTime, Thompson ended the call by saying “all right, love you,” to her and she awkwardly responded, “bye… thank you.”
Her friends Malika and Khadijah Haqq laughed afterwards at the exchange, with Kardashian explaining, “I don’t know what to say. I just think now, I’ve already seen how this ride goes and I don’t enjoy it. So it’s like, why would I want to do it for a third time?”
