Khloé Kardashian Once Said She Would Rather Date Football Players Than Basketball Players

Khloé Kardashian is known for her raw and honest opinions on the show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Because of this, she has had some memorable quotes over the years.

However, one thing she has said that many people might not remember concerned her dating preferences. A long time ago, Kardashian actually said she would rather date football players than basketball players. It was an interesting thing to say considering who she ended up dating in the years that followed.

Khloé Kardashian used to advise people to not date basketball players

In 2009, Kardashian shared with People that she would advise others to date football players because their schedules are more convenient.

“It’s easier to date a football player for sure,” she said. “Football players have one game a week, and they practice every day, but they’re all at home. In basketball, they’re on the road all the time.”

At the time, Kardashian had just broken up with her ex-boyfriend Rashad McCants, who was playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

She explained, “Relationships are so hard in general, even living next door to each other. But they have 82 games a year in their season, and I work so much; it’s hard to spend time together. It just wasn’t as fun as it should have been.”

Interesting, after her breakup with McCants, Kardashian actually continued having relationships with basketball players, going against her initial advice.

In September 2009, she married Lamar Odom, who was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. The couple only dated for a month before tying the knot. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last long. It was filled with infidelity rumors on Odom’s part. They filed for divorce in 2013.

Kardashian moved on to find romance with another NBA athlete in 2015. For eight months, she dated James Harden, who has been playing for the Houston Rockets. Harden later told Sports Illustrated that he “did not like all the attention” sprung upon him when she began dating Kardashian.

In 2016, Kardashian began dating Tristan Thompson, who has been playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The couple welcomed a daughter, True, in 2018. However, this relationship has also been volatile. Thompson reportedly cheated on Kardashian multiple times, and they even broke up in early 2019. Nevertheless, reports say Kardashian and Thompson have gotten back together.

Khloé Kardashian’s sister Kendall Jenner also tends to date basketball players

Interestingly, Kardashian is not the only one in her family who tends to gravitate towards NBA athletes. Her younger sister, Kendall Jenner, is also known for going from one basketball player to another.

In 2014, Jenner was linked to Chandler Parsons, who was playing for the Dallas Mavericks then.  Later on, she was linked to two players from the Los Angeles Lakers: D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson. In 2017, Jenner allegedly dated Blake Griffin from the Los Angeles Clippers at the time.

Finally, in 2018, she started a relationship with Ben Simmons, who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers. The couple were reportedly on and off for many months before breaking up in 2019.

She is currently linked to the Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.
