Khloé Kardashian’s Ex French Montana Opens Up About Their ‘Real’ Love
There’s no denying that Khloé Kardashian and French Montana once shared a special relationship. In fact, things were so good that he met her family and became a regular on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Sadly, the romance ended in 2014, with both stars moving on to other people. But now, Montana is taking a stroll down memory lane, sharing a bunch of details about their “real” love in a new interview.
Montana opened up to Haute Living
The “No Stylist” rapper told Haute Living all about his and Kardashian’s relationship, which lasted for about a year between 2013 and 2014.
“The love was real,” he told the publication in an Aug. 16 interview. “When the love was like that, it’s always going to be like that. Friendship after a relationship is something that’s real hard to do, and I’m glad we’ve been able to do it.”
Montana has definitely stayed close to the reality star. He was most recently seen partying at Kourtney Kardashian’s 40th birthday party back in April.
“Me and Khloé are always going to be friends, and the family still remains close,” he continued. “I feel like we had a real dope relationship ― there was no bad blood, nobody did something to somebody that we couldn’t come back from.”
What Kardashian had to say about all of this
As of writing, the reality star has not commented directly on the interview. However, she shared an Instagram post that may address Montana’s comments.
On Aug. 18, she sent out a beach photo alongside a message about finding inner peace this summer. “♡ This summer I have been focused on ME. Me from within. Mind. Body. Soul. ♡ #focused #peace #strength,” she captioned a picture of herself sporting a blue bikini.
She’s indeed been focusing on herself lately following a cheating scandal between Jordyn Woods and her former boyfriend, Tristan Thompson. In February, Woods and Thompson allegedly shared a kiss, which contributed to his and Kardashian’s split.
Why they broke up
So, these two broke up twice. The first time happened in September of 2014, with a source telling E! News that Kardashian simply got tired of Montana’s “needy, obsessive” behavior.
They broke up a second time that December, with Montana blaming Kardashian’s BFF, Malika Haqq, for their separation. He told Haqq in an episode of KUWTK that aired in April 2015 that he believed she put bugs in Kardashian’s ear that made her act negatively toward him.
Would Kardashian and Montana get back together?
Montana’s latest comments might make it seem like he’s open to rekindling their romance, but Kardashian has suggested that she’s over him.
“I jumped into something because I was just, like, lonely and destructive,” she said of the relationship in a 2014 episode of Kourtney & Khloé Take The Hamptons. (Kardashian moved on with Montana following her rocky relationship with Lamar Odom.)
They did, however, spark romance rumors at Kourtney’s birthday party. But sources pushed back on the claims to Us Weekly. “French is like a good family friend,” a source told the outlet. “[They] aren’t getting back together.”
Well, there’s that. Maybe Montana just got caught up on the moment and couldn’t help but reflect on their relationship. After all, it really did seem like a good time.
