Khloé Kardashian’s Fitness Journey Helped Her Become More Empowered
Khloé Kardashian may seem like a strong, confident woman on the outside, but she has admitted on a few different occasions that she sometimes has insecurities. One of the reasons why she has faced insecurities in the past is because her life has taken some strange and dramatic turns that she had no control of.
While there are obviously always going to be things in her life that she can’t control, Kardashian has found that by exercising regularly, she is able to find power in being in control of her own body, which helps her to stay sane during the moments when life becomes too chaotic.
Khloé Kardashian’s troubled love life
In the past, Kardashian has seemed to have nothing but bad luck when it comes to her romantic relationships. One of Kardashians first serious and most high-profile relationship was with her ex-husband Lamar Odom.
Kardashian and Odom were married in 2009, after only dating for a month. The couple had their fair share of ups and downs and even had their own reality show entitled Khloé & Lamar.
They were technically married for seven years, but they spent the last few years of their relationship separated. It was rumored that Odom was having a hard time dealing with the fame that came with being married to a Kardashian and that is what caused him to eventually start abusing drugs and alcohol. Shortly after their divorce was finalized, Odom was hospitalized and in critical condition from a drug overdose. Even though their relationship was over, Kardashian stayed by his side during his entire hospitalization and helped him through his recovery.
After her relationship with Odom was over, she started dating NBA star, Tristan Thompson. Her relationship with Thompson was an emotional roller coaster from the start. The Cleveland Cavaliers star was rumored to have cheated on Kardashian several times throughout their relationship. He was even caught getting very cozy with an unknown woman just days before Kardashian gave birth to their daughter.
Kardashian ended her relationship with Thompson for good after he was caught kissing Kylie Jenner’s former best friend, Jordyn Woods. Today, she and Thompson are still broken up, but she has decided to forgive him for his past infidelities in order to have a better co-parenting relationship with him for their 2-year-old daughter, True.
Khloé Kardashian found her ‘revenge body’
Kardashian has always been an open book when it comes to the struggles that she has faced with her weight. She has said on several occasions that she struggled with her weight on and off since she was a kid.
Many believe that it was her rocky relationship with Odom that caused her to have the determination and willpower to get into shape and be healthier. She enlisted the help of her sisters’ personal trainer to start a hard-core exercise and fitness routine that allowed her to lose 30 pounds.
She then decided that she wanted to help others get into shape as well, and thus, her new show, Revenge Body, was born. This show is much different from your average weight loss show. Contestants who appear on the show go through the same rigorous exercise and healthy-eating plan that Kardashian went through. However, every contestant is there to become healthier in order to get “revenge” on someone who has mistreated them due to their weight.
The show was an instant success and has been an inspiration to millions of people around the world and has helped many of her fans find the motivation healthy on their own.
Khloé Kardashian’s fitness journey gave her a healthy way to be in control
Recently, Kardashian was on an episode of What the Fit with Kevin Hart. While she and Hart were on their way to goat yoga (Yes, you read that right. They did yoga with live goats), Hart asked her what she liked about exercising.
“Well, for me, it was something that I was able to control,” Kardashian said. “And I didn’t realize how good it felt to be in control of your own body. And it’s an hour I could zone everyone out. I’m clear-headed, I could listen to music, and I’m just like by myself, and I’m just allowed to be me.”
Personal fitness has become such an important part of Kardashian’s life that she even built a full gym in her multi-million dollar mansion. Her home gym features a full wall of floor-to-ceiling mirrors, a full weight rack, foam rollers, Bosu balls, several treadmills, and a Smith machine.
