Kim Kardashian Can ‘Definitely Empathize’ with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle About Their Biggest Worry

Kim Kardashian knows all too well that the more famous you are, the less privacy you get to enjoy. That’s why she can totally relate to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s concerns about maintaining some privacy. She said she can empathize with the Sussexes as they face constant scrutiny from the media

Kardashian understands Prince Harry and Markle’s worries

During her interview with Lisa Wilkinson on The Sunday Project, Wilkinson noted that the Kardashian family’s level of fame is up there with the British royals.

When asked if she feels “some sympathy for what Harry and Meghan are going through,” Kardashian explained: “I think everyone has their own journey, and I think their journey is extremely personal with what his mother experienced and how her life was so affected by the spotlight and by paparazzi.”

She continued: “I don’t think anyone can really understand what that’s like except for them, but I think as I’m older and as I have kids and what I would want for them is just the safest place. I can definitely empathize with their need for having a secure, safe place and taking time for themselves and having privacy when they need it.”

Kardashian praised Prince Harry and Markle

When Prince Harry and Markle came under fire for preaching about environmental awareness but took a number of private jets over the summer, Kardashian weighed in with her thoughts on the matter.

When asked about the couple during an appearance at the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in Yerevan, Armenia, Kardashian admitted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not much different from other people — we all have flaws, after all.

Kardashian noted: “I think that everyone makes their own choices and decisions… no one’s gonna be perfect. I’m not, they’re not. I don’t know who is.”

She continued, explaining, “I still love and value the fact they bring such attention to such important movements that need to happen and things that they’re really passionate about. They’re still changing the world.”

Kardashian admitted she misses privacy

When Kardashian was interviewed by husband Kanye West for the September 2019 issue of Vogue Arabia, she opened up about her obsession with fame, confessing: “Money was always the goal but I was obsessed with fame, like, embarrassingly obsessed… I do agree that fame can be addictive.”

With her growing fame came a lack of privacy and, while she said she has no regrets, she did admit that life in the spotlight can be challenging. She told West: “Even in my darkest of times I don’t regret putting myself out there for the world to see. People have shared with me over the years how much it has helped them to feel less alone when dealing with their own adversity.”

She added, “I love having a voice and I appreciate the platform that I have been given, even though I do wish I could have more privacy at times.”

Kardashian also shared a perspective that Prince Harry and Markle have as well — how everything you do when you’re famous can be so easily scrutinized. She shared how she deals with it, noting: “I try to be a good person and to take my mistakes and make them into a better experience — to learn and grow from them and move on.”
