Kim Kardashian and Kanye West already have three adorable children together. The couple has been married since 2014, and in five years, they’ve had three kids with a fourth on the way. While four kids may seem like a lot these days, Kardashian and West probably aren’t done yet.

Kardashian and West first met when she was married to someone else

When the two stars first crossed paths, Kardashian was married to Damon Thomas. The couple reportedly first met when Kardashian was hanging out with singer Brandy, who was recording a song with West at the time. But Kardashian was married to Damon Thomas, and the two didn’t spend much time getting to know each other. They each dated several people throughout the early 2000s and didn’t start dating until 2012. When the two finally connected, Kardashian’s divorce from basketball star Kris Humphries reportedly wasn’t yet finalized.

The couple was married in 2014 and currently has three children

When Kardashian and West started dating, nobody thought the relationship would turn into much. These were two high-profile stars, and from experience, those relationships tend to not work out. But West and Kardashian proved everybody wrong when they married in Italy in 2014. Since then, they’ve welcomed three children. Kardashian’s first two pregnancies were natural, but due to complications with her second child, Saint, the couple decided to have their third child via surrogate.  

The two are having a fourth baby via surrogate

The couple didn’t want to stop at three kids, despite Kardashian not being able to carry the children herself. Kardashian has something called placenta accreta, which makes it very difficult for the placenta to be removed after birth. The couple’s third child, Chicago, was delivered via surrogate, and in January 2019, news broke that the couple was expecting their fourth child in the same way. People were surprised to learn that the couple was having a fourth kid, but Kardashian revealed on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that they might not even stop at four.

Kardashian once said that West is set on having 7 kids

Kardashian revealed last fall that her husband was harassing her to have seven children. The scene in the reality show was easy to miss, but Kardashian was catching up with a friend when she revealed that West was set on having seven children. Larsa Pippen, whom Kardashian was talking to, kept saying how well-behaved and good her children have been, and the conversation turned to whether she’ll have more. Kardashian said she doesn’t want to bring up seven children in the world the way it is today.

Kardashian currently has three kids, and her sister Kourtney does, too. Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner each have one daughter. While the family adores all of the young ones, it’s hard for Kardashian to wrap her head around caring for four more children than she currently has (her fourth child has not been born yet). Time will tell if the two decide to move forward with seven kids.
