Fans Slam Kim Kardashian For Her Most Recent KKW Beauty Collaboration: ‘We Don’t Even Like Her’

Kim Kardashian has taken a step back from her longtime modeling career to focus on a new business endeavor: Her beauty line. The mogul launched KKW Beauty back in June 2017, and since then, her brand has expanded rapidly. Kardashian tends to collaborate with family and friends to release new KKW Beauty lines, but her most recent collaboration has fans up in arms.

Kardashian launched KKW Beauty less than two years after Kylie Cosmetics took off

The Kardashian-Jenner family largely has Kim Kardashian to thank for their fame. Kardashian’s modeling career helped kick start their E! reality show, which has since made the entire family famous. And in 2015, Kylie Jenner, Kardashian’s younger sister, started Kylie Lip Kits, which were a way for people to get her enviable lips (though she has admitted to having fillers). She saw unbelievable success, and a little while later, Kardashian was launching her own beauty line, KKW Beauty. The line initially focused on contour kits but has since expanded to various types of makeup.

Kardashian has collaborated with friends and family various times since launching her lines

The Kardashians have plenty of family members with whom they love to collaborate. Kardashian and Jenner recently collaborated on a perfume line (Kardashian also launched a line of perfumes in 2017), and Kylie Jenner has created collaborations with several people close to her, including Khloé Kardashian and former best friend Jordyn Woods. It’s not uncommon to see collaborations launch, especially in this family, since it brings a new set of fans and a fresh face to a brand. But Kardashian’s recent pairing hasn’t gone over well with fans.

Her newest collaboration with Winnie Harlow has some fans furious

Kardashian recently announced that she has collaborated with model Winnie Harlow (whose real name is Chantelle Brown-Young) on her most recent KKW Beauty launch. Harlow has risen to fame because her skin condition, vitiligo, has set her apart from other models. She placed fifth on America’s Next Top Model, and her condition, which caused pigmentation loss in various patches on her skin, quickly made her memorable. Kardashian announced the collaboration on Instagram, but fans some fans aren’t having it.

“But… We don’t like Winnie,” one user commented. It received hundreds of likes. “Kim you could’ve collaborated with anyone OTHER than her… Ugh,” another user wrote; the comment also received hundreds of likes. Various users took to Kardashian’s comments section to speak their minds about their distaste toward the model. “I couldn’t think of anyone more undeserving,” someone wrote. “We don’t even like her, sis,” someone else added.

Harlow has been caught up in a few controversies

The reason for the negativity surrounding Harlow stems from a few controversies, but one that stands out was her controversy surrounding blackface. Harlow noticed that people had started imitating her vitiligo, and though most people would have seen it as inappropriate, Harlow spoke out and said it was OK with her. Some saw the imitations as blackface, which Harlow openly disagreed with, and it resulted in anger from a lot of her former supporters. Harlow has also been accused of body shaming and came under fire when she supposedly filmed an overweight man on a cruise and made fun of him on her Instagram story. The controversy surrounding her has caused some to lash out at Kardashian’s newest KKW Beauty campaign and suggest the collaboration was a bad move.
