Revealed: Kim Kardashian Refuses To Compromise On This 1 Thing For Kanye West
Kanye West is on a new path. The Jesus Is King rapper has been on a spiritual and religious journey which has brought him closer to God. Though his friends, family and his wife, Kim Kardashian, have been super supportive of West –attending and actively participating in his Sunday services, there has also been some tension.
In an October 2019 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kardashian was preparing for the 2019 Met Gala. Though she’d worked for months on her skin-tight “wet” dress with acclaimed designer Thierry Mugler, West was not pleased when he saw Kardashian’s final look. He said,
I didn’t realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone who is married and the father of now … about to be four kids. A corset is a form of underwear, it’s hot, for who though? You are my wife and it affects me when pictures are too sexy.
Obviously, a major part of Kardashian’s image is her sexiness– which the Chicago-born rapper previously delighted in. The reality starlet clapped back at her husband saying, “You built me up to be this sexy person and confidence and all this, and just because you’re on a journey and transformation doesn’t mean I’m in the same spot with you.” She ended the conversation calling it “ridiculous.”
Kim Kardashian changed her Met Gala dress for Kanye West
On KUWTK — it looked like the KKW Beauty mogul was not willing to compromise with her husband about her Met Gala ensemble, and we get it. She had worked hard on her look, and when he came in at the eleventh hour to voice his “disapproval” it seemed exhausting. However, Kardashian recently revealed that she did compromise with her husband. On a recent episode of The Real, the mom of four explained,
The dress, initially, since I was coming out of the water, there was nipples attached to it. With editing, I’m not sure we put that part into the fight. He was really certain that he didn’t want that on the dress. He mentioned it multiple times, and it was still on there. So we did have that discussion.
Kardashian revealed that she removed the nipples to compromise with her husband, mostly because she wanted to be appropriate for her children. “I respect where he’s gone on his journey in the last year and I obviously want to be appropriate for my children,” she explained. “There’s enough for them to see already. I can tone it down a little bit!”

Kardashian was willing to adjust her Met Gala gown to make peace with her husband and be “appropriate” for her children. However, she’s never going to stop being who she is for the College Dropout rapper or anyone else. She explained,
He’s had this epiphany of being…a little bit more strict as a dad and being very forceful on the imagery that’s in the household and what they see. I actually agree with it. But, I’m always going to be me. So, we had that discussion and that fight. I think, at the end of the day, that’s what marriage is.
Marriage and relationships are about compromise, but Kardashian is not a child, and we’re glad she’s standing up for herself.
