Kim Kardashian Reveals Her Surprising True Calling
Kim Kardashian became a celebrity in 2007 after the premiere of her family’s TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The series turned her into a household name and has given her all sorts of opportunities in her career.
Kardashian has a reputation for being famous because of her sex appeal and multitudes of scandals, so it can seem like she does not have aspirations aside from continuing to be as famous as possible. However, Kardashian recently shared that she does have a true calling, and it is not what one might think.
Kim Kardashian has done a variety of things in her career
Kardashian is best known for appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but she has done a lot of work when the cameras are not rolling as well.
For starters, Kardashian is one of the most well-known influencers on social media. She has over 158 million followers on Instagram and is known for influencing fashion and beauty trends.
She has also started very successful businesses. In 2017, she launched KKW Beauty, which sells a variety of beauty products. It has been said that KKW Beauty is worth around $100 million.
In 2019, Kardashian also launched SKIMS Solutionwear, which focuses on selling shapewear. SKIMS products have been positively received and also selling out like hotcakes.
Kim Kardashian now wants to become a lawyer
Aside from running her huge business empire, Kardashian has also been spending time pursuing a law degree.
She became interested in this field after helping Alice Marie Johnson, a woman who was convicted in 1996 on a nonviolent drug charge. Kardashian later said that she “felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it.”
As such, Kardashian decided to begin studying to take the bar exam. Although she did not finish college, her state (California) does have a way for people like her to still take the bar without a college degree, which includes becoming an apprentice at a law firm.
Kim Kardashian says that criminal justice work is her true calling
There are many people out there who do not take Kardashian’s law pursuit seriously, but she recently shared that she believes criminal justice work is now her true calling.
“I don’t see how I could just say no to someone that really needs help if I know that I can help them,” she told E! News.
Kardashian also revealed that she does not really have much time for friends who have different priorities these days.
“I love talking about it with everyone around me when there’s a case going on,” Kardashian continued. “I mean, even our group chats about different cases that go on, my conversations are different. I’ve literally had to change my number, and just say, ‘I gotta focus for four years, all my friends, guys I’ll be back in four years. Let me just really focus.’ I found my interests have changed, everything really just shifted, and it’s been a fun journey.”
Kim Kardashian is inspired by her father’s law career
While it might seem to some people like Kardashian’s new interest is quite random, the truth is that she grew up with a lot of exposure to criminal law.
Her late father, Robert Kardashian, was a lawyer and part of the team that defended O.J. Simpson in the 1990s when he was accused of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson.
Kardashian was only a kid at the time, but she was always interested in what her father was doing with OJ Simpson’s case. Now that Kardashian herself is trying to get on the same path as her late father, she shared with E! News that she wishes she could talk to him about it more.
“There are times when I can be frustrated, up studying really late and wonder how he did it,” she said. “Having four kids… [he] must have been going through some of the same things that I have gone through, so it would have been exciting to talk to him about that. I know that he would be so, so proud.”
