Kim Kardashian Says She Questioned Her Future With Kanye West at the Start of Their Relationship
Throughout their almost eight-year relationship, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have proved time and time again that they are the perfect match.
Though they have disagreements every now and again, the love these two have each other is so strong, that we’re pretty sure nothing could ever come between them.
While it was pretty clear early on that Kardashian and West belong together, the reality star recently revealed that she had doubts about her future with the rapper early on in their relationship.
Kardashian admits she was unsure of their future six months after being together
Though Kardashian couldn’t be happier being married to West, there was a time when she struggled picturing her future with the rapper.
While recently speaking on the All’s Fair With Laura Wasser podcast, Kardashian West revealed that though she was with West for six months, she questioned where their relationship was headed after discovering she was pregnant with their daughter, North.
“At the time, I didn’t know — were we gonna get married? Were we gonna have this baby?” she said. “It was all new territory to me, and I was so scared.”
Kardashian West goes on to reveal that she experienced the scare of her life when she thought she was having a miscarriage while filming Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.
“I thought I had a miscarriage because I was really heavily bleeding and in so much pain in Miami,” the reality star continued. “I went in to see my doctor and there was no heartbeat. He said, ‘You had a miscarriage.'”
Kardashian then recalls her doctor telling her to come into their office so that she could have a “D and C” — which is a surgical procedure that removes the contents of the uterus after a miscarriage.
“It was Thanksgiving morning and my doctor said, ‘Come in in the morning, and we’ll do it Thanksgiving night so no one will see you.’ I was so worried people would find out. It was the first time I ever was pregnant. I was so nervous,” she said.
However, when Kardashian went in to have the procedure, she learned that she didn’t have a miscarriage and was still carrying her baby.
“And then Thanksgiving morning I came in to do it, and he said, ‘There’s a heartbeat,'” she expressed. “And I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is a sign! It’s Thanksgiving morning.’ So we ended up, obviously, having North.”
Everything fell into place after that
After discovering that she was, in fact, with child, Kardashian and West officially announced her pregnancy on New Year’s Eve 2012.
Though she and the rapper were over the moon that they were becoming parents, Kardashian’s motherhood journey didn’t get any easier from then on.
Throughout her pregnancy with North, Kardashian experienced an array of complications that carried on into her second pregnancy with her son, Saint.
In December 2019, Kardashian opened up about her pregnancy complications and shared that she had to undergo extensive surgeries to repair the damage that had been done to her body.
“I actually had to have five different operations within a year and a half to fix the damage that all of that did from the inside,” she said in the promotional video for her Skims shapewear line.
While she successfully delivered two healthy babies, Kardashian was told in 2016 that she wouldn’t be able to safely carry another child.
After learning of this heartbreaking news, Kardashian and West decided to use gestational surrogates for their third and fourth children.
“I opted to have a surrogate to use the last, two different surrogates, to use the last two embryos that we had,” she continued.
Kardashian and West have since welcomed their two youngest children and couldn’t be happier with their family of six.
Though she had doubts about how her future with West was going to turn out, Kardashian didn’t let that stop her from taking a chance and seeing where things were headed.
Now, she and West have four beautiful children, and couldn’t be more grateful for their family.
