Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West Have a ‘System’ in Place to Protect Their Kids From Fame

Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are two of the most famous celebrities around. They have four children together: North (born 2013), Saint (born 2015), Chicago (born 2018), and Psalm (born 2019).

It’s almost inevitable that the West kids will get at least some attention growing up. However, Kardashian West and West have a “system” in place to protect their children from the negative effects of fame.

Fans have expressed concerns about how fame will affect the Kardashian-Jenner kids

The Kardashian-Jenner family now has many young kids, with a number of them appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians alongside their parents.

A few months ago, Kardashian-Jenner fans on Reddit discussed their concerns for how KUWTK will affect the next generation of kids, especially when it comes to their self-image.

“I think you can see it’s had an effect on Kylie [Jenner],” one fan wrote. “She had to go through puberty on live TV with open access to thousands of horrible comments about her appearance. It doesn’t help that she has three superstars for big sisters, that she looks nothing like, as role models. Kylie was really beautiful in her own unique way and its always so sad to see how much she’s altered herself at such a young age, and even after all that she still retouches her photos.”

Of course, KUWTK will end in 2021, so most of the Kardashian-Jenner kids might not grow up on TV. However, the Kardashian-Jenners will most likely still have a huge presence on social media, where they could continue to be judged for everything they do.

While Kardashian West and West cannot protect their kids from everything, they have been trying to do the best they can to make sure their kids do not get negatively affected by fame.

For example, in 2018, Kardashian West shared that she and her husband pay attention to how their children are portrayed on KUWTK and social media.

“I have a good balance. If our kids are ever on the show, Kanye has to view it, he has to approve it,” Kardashian West said on the Pretty Big Deal podcast. “We have a really good system. Sometimes I will send him a picture of the kids and then I’ll see him post it, and I’m like ‘I didn’t want that posted.’ Or he will say to me let’s chill out on posting the kids for a minute. So we will have our moments and it changes all the time.”

It’s not clear if West wants to give up fame anytime soon, but Kardashian West has stated this intention. She is currently studying law to further her work as an advocate for criminal justice reform, and she shared last year that she could see herself giving up fame in the future.

“My goal would be in like, 10 years, to give up being Kim K and just focus on this and be an attorney and fight for so many deserving people,” she told Vogue Arabia.
