Kim Kardashian West Is Determined To Free Another Inmate Who She Believes “Has Been Framed”

It looks like Kim Kardashian West is working hard to help out another inmate she is certain has been wronged by the criminal justice system.

The reality star is once again using her platform to help an inmate who is currently on death row for a crime she is certain he did not commit.

According to sources, Kardashian recently visited inmate Kevin Cooper, who she has been working with since October, to prove to California’s governor and other government officials that he is and always has been innocent.

Who is Kevin Cooper?

Kim Kardashian West is determined to fight for reform in the criminal justice system, and her latest campaign proves just how serious she is.

On May 30, Kardashian spoke with convicted murderer Kevin Cooper, who is on death row in San Quentin prison, in an effort to get to know his story a little better.

After sitting down with Kevin, Kardashian later tweeted out a photo of him describing their meeting.

“I had an emotional meeting with Kevin Cooper yesterday at San Quentin’s death row. I found him to be thoughtful and honest and I believe he is innocent of the crimes for which he was convicted,” she tweeted.

The reality star has been advocating for Cooper after learning of his unfair trial and conviction back in October.

Cooper and Kardashian talked for two hours as he explained how he’s been behind bars for 36 years even though he is innocent.

Back in 1983, Kevin Cooper was convicted of murdering Douglas and Peggy Ryan, their 10-year-old daughter Jessica, and 10-year-old Chris Hughes in their Chino Hills home.

Even though he’s maintained his innocent all these years, Cooper has had to deal with the ever-changing death row penalty policies, which is where he stands today.

Kim has brought Kevin’s case to the Governor’s attention

Kim is certain Kevin has been wrongfully accused and has been working since October to get the Governor to “look into Copper’s case” according to TMZ.

California’s then-Governor Jerry Brown and government officials took Kim’s pleas into consideration and looked back into Cooper’s case.

When Kevin Copper was convicted back in the 80s, investigators were certain they had found his DNA at the crime scene.

However, Cooper appealed the ruling and it was found that his blood, which was found on a T-shirt at the crime scene, had test tube preservative on it.

Cooper tried to prove his innocence time and time again but his attempts were not taken seriously.

After Kim Kardashian West asked Governor Brown to look into Cooper’s case through Twitter, Brown eventually ordered DNA testing and further testing was ordered by California’s new Governor, Gavin Newsom.

With Newsom being against the death penalty, he has suspended all executions during his reign as Govenor.

There is a good chance with Kim Kardashian West’s help, Kevin Cooper could have his freedom back one day soon.

It has been reported that Kim Kardashian is using her knowledge of the legal system wisely and her time spent studying to become a lawyer has really paid off.

So far, Kim has helped free over 17 prisoners over the last three months as part of her campaign and is not looking to stop anytime soon.

The reality star has had a great track record so far helping wrongfully convicted individuals prove their innocence and at the rate she’s going, Kevin Copper could see the light of day a lot sooner than he thinks.
