Kim Kardashian West Says ‘KUWTK’ Production Was Shut Down for a Week After Her Fight With Kourtney Kardashian

It seems like Kim Kardashian West and Kourtney Kardashian weren’t the only ones who needed a breather after that explosive Season 18 premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

During the final moments of the episode, the sisters got into a heated argument that quickly escalated into a full-blown slapping and scratching fight that left everyone — the family, crew, and fans — completely shook.

With tensions between the sisters reaching an all-time high, they decided to give each other some much-needed space, which meant putting production for the show on hold until the drama was behind them.

Kardashian revealed some behind-the scenes details about the fight with Jimmy Fallon

Tensions definitely boiled over between Kardashian West and her older sister during the season 18 premiere of KUWTK, but it turns out that there was a lot more drama that unfolded when the cameras weren’t rolling.

On Mar. 30, the SKIMS founder joined talk show host Jimmy Fallon, via video chat, for his first televised episode of The Tonight Show: Home Edition, where she recalled some behind-the-scenes moments that took place during — and after — her and Kourt’s fight.

The reality star touched upon the fight in detail and admitted that though she isn’t a violent person, she was pushed over the edge once the Poosh founder shoved her and dug her nails into her arms and back.

“I don’t really ever resort to violence like that. But she scratched me so hard, you couldn’t see, but I was bleeding,” Kardashian told Fallon of the confrontation. “And so you didn’t really get see that detail [on the show].”

“When I looked down at my arm and saw she had really scratched me and I felt it on my back, I just, you know, went over and slapped her back,” she added. “It’s not like my proudest moment but we were going through it.”

Kardashian West also recalled the moment their mom, Kris Jenner, watched the fight for the first time and revealed that the momager was overcome with emotion while viewing the clip.

“When my mom saw that, a clip of that, she cried,” she recollected. “She was like, ‘What is going on? Who are you guys?”

Production was shut down until tensions subsided

Since the fight was so intense and emotions were running high, Kardashian West revealed that she, the Poosh founder, and everyone else in the room during the altercation decided to take some time off following that dramatic episode.

Not only did the reality stars need a break from each other, but with everyone in the room being taken back by Kim and Kourt’s full-blown slap fight, they also deserved some time away from the drama.

“We shut down production for a week after that,” Kardashian West shared. “Everyone was really shook for a minute and just was like, ‘This isn’t like our type of show.’ We want everyone to be comfortable and safe.”

The KKW mogul added that though she and her sister are now on better terms with each other, she revealed that the mom of three has “made the decision to take time off now.”

“I think she really needs it,” she said. “I think that will be so much better for her.”

While Kardashian West seemingly implied that her sister is just taking a short break from the show, the Poosh founder had a completely different sentiment while live-tweeting during the Season 18 premiere.

When one fan tweeted, “@KourtneyKardash just needs to quit the d*mn show! I’m over her not wanting to film,” Kourt responded with, “I did. Bye.”

After fans voiced their support for her quitting the show, Kardashian tweeted that though it wasn’t easy making this decision, she’s happy she did.

“Took a lot to get there but choose happiness always. It’s easy to forget what really matters,” she tweeted.

Now that the Poosh founder is officially done with KUWTK, we won’t have to worry about another fight breaking out between family members on camera. Or so we hope.
