17-year-old YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa rose to fame from the long-running show, Dance Moms. Since then she has captured the hearts of children across the globe. From her signature blonde ponytail to her cheerful and sunny personality, she’s continued to remain positive despite the intense media attention.
As Siwa has gotten older, she’s sometimes switched up her look and even appeared on the competition series, The Masked Singer. However, that hasn’t stopped Siwa from remaining true to herself and her adoring fans.
In fact, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West’s eldest daughter, North is absolutely smitten with Siwa. The 17-year-old even “pretend babysat” the 7-year-old last year and she still keeps in touch with Kardashian West. In fact, the Skims founder just wrote the most touching tribute about the Nebraska native.
Inside JoJo Siwa and North West’s playdate
In March 2019, Kardashian West and North stopped by Siwa’s house for a playdate. Though then six-year-old North was a nervous wreck about meeting her idol, the pair ended up having a blast.
North’s hair was styled in Siwa’s signature ponytail with some added rainbow strands for flair. Though the outgoing kid was at first left speechless when she and Siwa were introduced, the pair quickly bonded with some dancing and some slime.
Siwa captured the entire playdate for her YouTube Channel in a video titled, “Babysitting North West.”
JoJo Siwa and Kim Kardashian West still keep in touch
Obviously meeting Siwa was a dream come true for North and Kardashian West was equally delighted by Siwa. Following her big reveal on The Masked Singer in March 2020, Siwa shard that she and the KKW Beauty founder still chat. She told People,
Oh yeah, I was actually just talking to Kim like two days ago. They’re such good people, they really are. You never know how people are going to be in real life, but the Kardashians are some of the sweetest, nicest people ever.
Kim Kardashian West wrote the most beautiful tribute to JoJo Siwa
It looks like Kardashian West feels that same about Siwa. The YouTuber was just named one of TIME’s 100 Most influential people and the KUWTK starlet wrote the most touching tribute.
“JoJo Siwa is a ray of sunshine in a world that seems scary right now,” she wrote. “As a parent, you want your kids to admire positive figures. There’s no one more positive than JoJo. You just can’t help but smile when you see her rainbow ponytail.” Kardashian West went on to share just how much she admired Siwa for the way she handles the spotlight. She explained,
JoJo is never ashamed to be herself, which can be really hard to do in this industry, especially when you’re so young. When Keeping Up With the Kardashians first aired, I was old enough to know who I was and make my own decisions. I can’t imagine what it’s like to live this life at age 17. JoJo embraces it, and I hope she always will. At some point, she’ll evolve and grow up a little bit, and that’s O.K. The people who love and support her will always be there. Live in the moment. Have fun. Be yourself and surround yourself with people who will keep you positive.
