Kris Jenner Reveals Kim Kardashian West’s Top Priority Amid Her Split From Kanye West
While recently appearing on the TODAY show, the famed momager opened up about her family and the final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Jenner also shared what Kardashian West has been up to since filing for divorce from West, revealing that the mom of four has been focused on a few things these last few months.
Kim Kardashian West filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021
It’s the end of the road for KimYe.
After nearly seven years of marriage, Kardashian West filed for divorce from West on Feb. 19, 2021.
“It’s gotten to the point where they haven’t spent time together as a married couple in months,” an insider told E! News at the time. “They’ve seen each other for the sake of the kids but have been living separately. Kim knows the marriage is over. She’s known for a while.”
According to court documents, the SKIMS founder has requested joint legal and physical custody of their four kids — North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1 — and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.
Just recently, West responded to Kardashian West’s initial divorce filing with paperwork of his own, requesting joint legal and physical custody of their kids. He also agreed that no spousal support or attorney’s fees will be awarded to either party and that he will adhere to the prenup.
According to Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian West is juggling a lot amid her impending divorce
Though Kardashian West has yet to address her split from West publicly, Jenner recently opened up about how her daughter is doing amid this personal change.
During an appearance on TODAY With Hoda & Jenna, the momager revealed that the KKW Beauty mogul is keeping herself busy amid her split from the rapper.
“Kim’s doing great. Kim is really focusing on her legal studies. She’s trying to pass the bar, so she does that every day and her kids are a handful. She’s got four,” Jenner said, adding that Kardashian West has been busy juggling her studies and mom duties. “You know, I have ten grandchildren and they literally spend all their time together. It’s really cute. They go to school together and they have all their little activities. So, it’s a full-time job times 10. So, she’s been really busy.”
But despite Kardashian West staying busy to keep her mind off of her split, Jenner says their family has done a great job at supporting each other in times like this.
“We obviously have learned over the years to have some really thick skin and to try to ignore the noise that’s created around us, especially on the Internet,” Jenner said when asked how she handles these types of situations. “I think personally it’s just communicating with one another, being together and, being so close, you’re able to really see and feel how someone else is feeling and we just get through all of this stuff together.”
Jenner continued, “We’ve been through so many things and we have the experience now to know that everything’s always going to be OK in the end—that’s what we pray for. The support system is the most important thing.”
