Kim Kardashian’s Best Halloween Costumes Over the Years
The Kardashians and Jenners don’t mess around when it comes to dressing up for Halloween. The whole family has shown off some seriously impressive costumes year after year — but none quite as creative as Kim Kardashian’s. She goes all in on a theme, whether she transforms into another celebrity or pairs up for a couples costume.
Here are our all-time favorite Halloween costumes from Kardashian over the years.
One of our favorite costumes from Kardashian is actually one of her simplest. Anyone could put together this skeleton costume Kardashian wore in 2014, though she still managed to give it her own fabulous touch. With a skin-tight suit, slicked-back voluminous hair, and a terrifying gaze, Kardashian committed to this spooky look.
Kardashian didn’t just dress up as Anna Wintour in 2014 — she truly transformed herself into the Vogue Editor-in-Chief. While Kardashian was impressively on-point with her costume, this look was a group effort. Her own daughter, North West, dressed as Vogue contributing editor Andre Leon Talley.
Joyce Bonelli, Kardashian’s friend and makeup artist, dressed as creative director of Vogue Grace Coddington. Even Bonelli’s son got in on the theme, dressing as Karl Lagerfeld.
Mermaid and her captain
Back in 2012, Kardashian went with a super cute and simple theme along with her now-husband, Kanye West. She looked like a glamorous mermaid, including a form-fitting fin, shell details, and long, flowing blonde hair. West looks like he may have just picked some clothes out of his closet and called it a Halloween costume — which is definitely something we’ve all done in the past. When paired with Kardashian’s mermaid costume, however, he looks like a preppy, modern captain.
2017 was the year of costumes for Kardashian. She channeled a handful of her favorite music icons, starting out with a big one: Cher. Alongside her friend Jonathan Cheban dressed as Sonny Bono, Kardashian totally nailed this look. She went all-out down to every detail, including her fierce look straight into the camera.
Kardashian continued her glam streak by channeling another music icon in 2017. Next up on the roster? Madonna circa 1991 at the Academy Awards. What really made the look, however, was the pairing of Kourtney Kardashian’s scary-good Michael Jackson costume. Together, they looked straight out of the award show from nearly 30 years ago.

While this costume from 2017 was her most spot-on, it also received a ton of backlash online. She dressed up as Selena Quintanilla, wearing the singer’s most iconic look from a 1995 performance. After posting a series of photos and videos on her social media pages, the critical comments came pouring in.
One user wrote, “I’m sorry Kim, you can’t be Selena for Halloween and not know the ad libs to bidi bidi bom bom. Try again next year.”
Others, on the other hand, defended the reality TV star. One fan pointed out, “People are just hating because it’s Kim Kardashian!! Stop putting women against women it’s not a competition! They both slayed!!!!”
