Kim Kardashian’s Photographer Marcus Hyde Took Advantage of Aspiring Models

Marcus Hyde has long been a photographer to the stars. He’s snapped photos of celebs like Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian and her family, among others. In fact, he’s worked as Kardashian’s personal photographer for several years and the star even donated money to the photographer to help him through the costs of recovering physically after an automobile accident.

Recently, the photographer has come under attack for his alleged misconduct. Apparently, Hyde was demanding models send him nude photographs of themselves before he would agree to schedule sessions with them.

Marcus Hyde has worked as a photographer to celebrities for years

Hyde’s career has revolved around forming relationships with beautiful women. He’s been the personal photographer for Kardashian and worked on photo shoots with the likes of Grande. His name is well known around Hollywood and aspiring models seek him out for work on their portfolios.

That’s where the trouble begins. It seems he’s gotten into hot water lately due to the way he interacts with the models he’s shooting, specifically, he’s extorting them.

What are the accusations against Marcus Hyde?

Last week, up and coming model Sunnaya Nash shared screenshots of a conversation she had with Hyde on Instagram. In the direct message conversation with the photographer, Hyde demands nude photos from Nash in exchange for a photoshoot.

Nash needed clarification about whether Hyde would still be willing to do the photoshoot with her if she did not send him nude photos. He agreed that he would if she agreed to pay him $2,000. If she sent the nude photos though, the shoot would be free.

“Bc i wont send you nudes myself before shooting?” she wrote.

“Yeah. Gotta see if your worth it,” he replied.

When Nash refused, Hyde told her to look for a photographer elsewhere.

“Find someone else,” he replied. “Ill keep shooting celebs.”

Support for Sunnaya Nash came in all over Instagram

Instagrammers rallied to support Nash utilizing the hashtag #cancelmarcushyde. Popular Instagram user Diet Prada was quick to post screenshots of Nash’s DMs and bash Hyde for his behavior.

After Diet Prada’s repost, more and more women came forward with details of their own bad experiences with Hyde. Their stories relayed everything from harassment, extortion and even rape during or after their photoshoots.

Ariana Grande cuts off Marcus Hyde

Quickly and succinctly, Grande spoke out against photographers abusing their power. In just 24 hours after the story was made public, she talked about the allegations in her Instagram Story, telling young women not to work with photographers who make them feel uncomfortable.

In her post, she told women that they should not shoot with photographers who “make you uncomfortable or make you feel like you need to take your clothing off if you don’t want to.” Additionally, Grande encouraged models and other talent to tag photographers whom they feel are worth working with.

Kim Kardashian finally speaks out

After keeping silent regarding the issue, Kardashian finally made a statement regarding her photographer’s behavior. She tells her fans that she never personally had any kind of unprofessional experience with Hyde. She says the whole ordeal makes her sad and she is shocked to hear about the negative experiences other women have had with the photographer.

In her Instagram stories, she made the following statement: “I have been reading all of the messages and stories from women regarding inappropriate and inexcusable behavior of a photographer that I have worked with in the past. My own experiences have always been professional, and I am deeply shocked, saddened and disappointed to learn that other women have had very different experiences.”

It is unclear if Kardashian and West intend to continue working with the photographer now that these issues have been brought to light.
