What Time Will ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ Be Released on Netflix? The Sequel Film Is Coming Out Soon
Back in 2018, the teen rom-com stunned audiences when it became one of the most rewatched movies on the streaming platform. Now, the highly-anticipated sequel is finally here and fans are already prepared to give up their weekend. But what time will The Kissing Booth 2 be released? Here’s everything you need to know.
What is ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ about?
In case you don’t remember, The Kissing Booth was practically made to have a sequel. Toward the end of the film, Elle Evans (Joey King) and Noah Flynn (Jacob Elordi) got together. Then after spending the summer as an official couple, Noah went off to Harvard. Meanwhile, Elle stayed behind to finish her final year of high school.
Now, The Kissing Booth 2 will pick up where the first movie left off. Noah and Elle are testing the waters with long-distance, which puts their relationship to the test. Elle also meets a potential new love interest named Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez) and Noah gets friendly with Chloe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers).
All the while, Elle must determine where she’s going to college. But she’s having trouble deciding whether she wants to attend Berkeley with Lee (Joel Courtney) or Harvard with Noah. So can Elle follow her heart and carve out her own path? We’ll have to see.
‘The Kissing Booth 2’ Netflix release date and time
The Kissing Booth 2 will be released on Netflix on Friday, July 24. But you might be up all night depending on where you live.
Typically, the streaming platform drops new content at the same time — 12 a.m. PT (3 a.m. ET), as Netflix is based out of California. It’s possible some TV shows and movies may be delayed. However, it’s likely fans will be able to watch The Kissing Booth 2 around 3 a.m. ET on July 24.
What ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ cast says about the sequel film
Whenever viewers decide to tune into The Kissing Booth 2 on Netflix, the sequel’s cast seems confident in the new film.
“This sequel, if I may say so myself, I think is better than the first movie,” King told The Hollywood Reporter in July 2020. “We wanted to give fans something to remember. Something that is even bigger and better than the movie that they fell in love with initially. Something that exceeded all expectations and still remained true to the absolute fun, loving, ridiculously silly nature of the first movie.”
She continued, “I just think that — not to toot our own horn — but I kind of think that we might have hit it out of the park or whatever.”
But does a better sequel necessarily mean The Kissing Booth 2 delivers a happily ever after? It depends on who you ask.
“Why not? I think so,” Elordi said when Entertainment Tonight asked whether Elle and Noah will be endgame. “I reckon, I would say so.”
Meanwhile, King cast her doubts, noting there will be obstacles ahead.
“Just like Elle says in the trailer, she always thought they were [endgame]. But things change, things happen,” King said. “I don’t know where their story will take them. But I’m so excited that we get to see Elle and Noah in this movie. I think Noah and Elle are iconic and I think it’s exciting for fans to be able to see them again.”
No matter what happens between Elle and Noah in The Kissing Booth 2, it seems fans will enjoy the ride starting July 24. So happy streaming.
