Kitty Spencer Is Channeling Princess Diana With Her Outfits More Than Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle
Lady Kitty Spencer, Princess Diana’s niece — her dad, Charles Spencer, is the late royal’s brother — has been channeling the People’s Princess style (check out some of her most iconic looks) with her clothes much more than Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, or Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. Keep reading to see how the 28-year-old’s style is very similar to that of Princess Diana. Learn five things about Spencer here.
Red dress with polka dots
Living in London and working as a model, Spencer has access to some fabulous clothes and jewelry. At an event for Bvlgari — she’s an ambassador for the brand — Princess Diana’s relative wore a sheer red dress in a voluminous silhouette with a barely-there polka dot print.
See Spencer’s red polka dot look below:
And Princess Diana’s:
The outfit looked remarkably similar to a particular dress Princess Diana wore in the early 1980s. The royal wore polka dots on numerous occasions and she just so happened to wear a similar red polka dot dress to an event in 1983. In the picture below’s she’s can be seen also wearing the Spencer family tiara.
Another polka dot dress
Spencer wore a second polka dot dress in an Instagram photo she posted while on a boat in Capri. While her dress has a more relaxed and romantic feel to it compared to Princess Diana’s — she was on a boat in the Mediterranean after all — there’s certainly a similarity to their looks.

Spencer stunned at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding
Lady Spencer captured the world’s attention when she attended the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in May 2018.
The public couldn’t deny her resemblance to Princess Diana. Making them look even more alike, the young woman wore an emerald green outfit complete with a fascinator not very different from Princess Diana’s look at Trooping the Colour in 1982.
Black dresses and jewels
Attending yet another event for Bvlgari, Spencer channeled not one but two of Princess Diana’s outfits.
Spencer accessorized her dress with statement jewelry (a stunning emerald and diamond necklace) just like Princess Diana did.
She wore a black dress similar to ones the late royal wore in 1987 and a decade later on her 36th birthday at London’s Tate Gallery.
Practically matching white dresses
In 2016, for a more casual event i.e. no black tie required, Spencer wore a white cap-sleeved sheath dress and matching white heels, according to Harper’s Bazaar.
Her ensemble looked almost identical to a dress her aunt wore while in Argentina except for the accessories. Princess Diana wore her dress with black heels and a string of pearls while Spencer opted for of the moment clear shoes similar to a pair Markle wore while visiting SmartWorks.
Head to toe leopard
Princess Diana wore a leopard swimsuit and a matching cover-up while relaxing on the beach in 1990 with her sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, now the Dukes of Sussex and Cambridge.
Spencer wore a leopard print trench coat not sitting in the sand but while at Milan Fashion Week in Sept. 2019.
