Kourtney Kardashian Admits That She’s Intimidated by Kylie Jenner’s Billionaire Status
At the tender age of 21, Kylie Jenner became the world’s youngest self-made billionaire. She reached the milestone faster than moguls like Mark Zuckerburg, who earned the title at 23, and her famous siblings who set the foundation for her success.
And while her family has commended her on the achievement, at least one member has suggested that it’s made things kind of… weird. In a new interview, Kourtney Kardashian admitted that Jenner’s billionaire status can be a little intimidating.
Kardashian’s comments on Jenner’s billionaire status
On Sept. 16, Kardashian, 40, stopped by The Real and opened up on the matter to hosts Tamera Mowry, Jeannie Mai, Adrienne Bailon Houghton, and Loni Love.
When asked whether Jenner’s new status puts pressure on her and her sisters, Kardashian said, “Probably subconsciously it makes us feel like, ‘When is it enough?’”
“And that’s a thing I always think to myself, ‘When is it enough?’ Because I don’t like missing out on certain things like doing my kids’ homework or certain after-school activities or different things like that,” she continued.
Kardashian has made it clear over the years that being a full-time mom matters most. (She and her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick share three kids: Mason, Penelope, and Reign.) But the television personality still puts in work. Most recently, she launched a lifestyle website called Poosh, which offers tips and advice on beauty, cooking, fitness, and more.
She once used the title to criticize Jenner
In an episode from the 16th season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the Poosh founder took aim at her little sister and how entitled she allegedly is.
“She has this like, entitlement—no one says anything because she’s Kylie Billionaire Jenner,” she said (via W Magazine).
The comments came after Kris Jenner called Kardashian to vent about a feud she’d been having with the makeup mogul over an office space, which Jenner said her mother was taking control over.
“My office that I just got and pay way too much a month [for]—I’ve spent so much time making it perfect,” Jenner told Khloé Kardashian, adding that her mother was “just doing too much with my office.”
“It’s just getting out of hand,” she continued.
But, for what it’s worth, Kardashian and Jenner appear to have a solid relationship. They’re often supportive of each other’s business ventures, and they tend to enjoy time out together with the rest of their family. They just have their moments — like all siblings.
Other Kardashian-Jenner reactions to the milestone
When Forbes announced in July of 2018 that the lip kit mogul was on her way to becoming the youngest self-made billionaire, the world had mixed reactions. Some people couldn’t have been happier for the reality star. But others claimed that Jenner didn’t classify as “self-made,” given that she was born into fame that she used in her favor.
Her siblings were among the former.
Kim Kardashian West tweeted, “CONGRATS @KylieJenner.” In a second tweet, she added, “Wait I’m posting this again just because!!!! BILLION DOLLAR BABY.”
(Jenner officially earned the title back in March.)
Jenner also told Ellen DeGeneres in 2019 that while her family is “really proud of me,” they sometimes tease her over her status.
“When we’re in a group chat talking about where we should go for a trip, they’re like, ‘Kylie? You going to pay for it?’” she said in a clip of the episode (via Us Weekly). “Just stuff like that.”
LOL. While the feat may be intimidating, it’s good to see that the family can also make a joke out of it.
