Kourtney Kardashian Called ‘KUWTK’ a Toxic Environment

It’s no secret that for the past several years, Kourtney Kardashian has been struggling when it comes to filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The eldest KarJenner sibling shot straight to the A-list when the show premiered in 2007. She was well-liked by many, and fans watched her tumultuous relationship with her then-boyfriend, Scott Disick.

Though Kardashian and Disick share three children together, Mason, Penelope, and Regin, they officially went their separate ways in 2015. Since then, Kardashian has been focusing on other things including her children and her new lifestyle brand, Poosh. She has said openly that filming KUWTK is no longer a priority for her.

Unfortunately, this has caused a great deal of tension between the mother of three and her sisters, Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West. In fact, the Season 18 premiere of KUWTK opened when an explosive physical fight between Kourtney and Kim, ending with the eldest Kardashian sister leaving the show. Now, Kourtney has called KUWTK a toxic environment.

Kourtney Kardashian has grown exhausted with ‘KUWTK’

From filming makeups and breakups to giving birth on camera three times, we can see why Kourtney Kardashian is exhausted with KUWTK. In fact, the 41-year-old has described it as being caught on a never-ending hamster wheel. “I felt like I was on a hamster wheel,” she explained on E!’s In the Room. “I felt like something needed to change.”

After last season, Kardashian decided to reevaluate her life and to film less. Yet, that didn’t stop her sisters Kim and Khloé from taking digs at her. “I’ve been taking less time with filming and, in general, with work,” she told Health Magazine. “My sisters don’t like when I say ‘setting boundaries,’ but it’s more about a schedule. I’m trying to put energy into things that are fulfilling and enjoyable. I try to make myself available to my kids to really be a mom. And I want to be in charge of my time and schedule in order to do the things that are bringing me happiness.”

Inside Kim Kardashian West and Kourtney Kardashian’s explosive fight

For the last year or so, Kourtney Kardashian has been openly frustrated with the spotlight. In the Season 18 premiere of KUWTK, she even revealed that she hated being a celebrity. “I always say I want to move away someday and just be away from it all,” she told Paper Magazine. “Sail away. No one will ever see me again. I keep throwing up different places, but then I’ll go there to visit and I’ll be like, ‘Nope, this isn’t it, but glad I came.’ We’ve just been to Finland. And I was like, ‘Check, it’s great for me to visit, but I’m not going to move there.’ Maybe Norway. Switzerland? I’ve got a lot of ideas.”

Though the health advocate seemed content with her new modified KUWTK filming schedule she exploded when her sister Kim teased her about her work ethic. As a result, the eldest Kardashian sisters got into a shocking fight where they screamed at one another, slapped one another, punched each other, and scratched each other to the point of ripping their skin. It was really horrible to watch.

Kourtney Kardashian called ‘KUWTK’ a toxic work environment

Following her fight with her sister, Kourtney quit KUWTK and production was shut down for a week. “We shut down production for a week after that” Kardashian West told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I think everyone was really shook for a minute and just was like, ‘This isn’t, like, our type of show.’ Like, what’s happening? We want everyone to be comfortable and safe.”

However, contracts were signed and needed to be honored. As a result, when it was time to begin filming again, the Poosh founder returned with an even more modified schedule.

“Now I’m filming, maybe like, two days a week because I don’t want to be in a toxic environment,” she explained during an episode. “I just feel so much better giving my focus and attention to my kids and to Poosh and things that I’m excited about.”

Perhaps it’d be best if Kardashian exited for good after Season 18.
