The eldest sibling in the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Kourtney Kardashian is unique in many ways. When Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered in 2007, she was already established in a career working at a boutique that she co-owned with her mother, Kris Jenner.

She was also dating Scott Disick. In fact, it was her relationship with Disick that provided the fodder for many of the show’s early episodes.

In 2010, Kardashian and Disick welcomed their first child, a boy named Mason. Although their relationship seemed fraught with tension from the beginning, the two managed to work things out for a while for the sake of their newborn son.

Two years later, Kardashian gave birth to the couple’s second child, a daughter named Penelope. Around the time of Penelope’s birth, Disick began receiving treatment for alcoholism.

Finally, in late 2014, Kardashian and Disick had their third child, another son named Reign. They broke up for good following Reign’s birth, and both Kardashian and Disick have gone on to date other people.

Kardashian seemed to adapt easily to her role as a mother, advocating for a healthy diet and all-natural parenting methods. Fans have witnessed Kardashian weather the storms of parenthood, struggling with body image and regaining her sense of self after birthing her three children. All the while, she has continued to work on various business ventures.

Her biggest and most recent project is her lifestyle website, Poosh. While the website isn’t a strict commerce platform and mainly focuses on articles and interviews that spotlight a holistic lifestyle, the site does feature a variety of products curated by Kardashian herself.

In addition to the income generated through Poosh, Kardashian occasional posts sponsored ad content on her Instagram page. And, of course, she still makes money by filming episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Still, she recently opened up and revealed to Jason Kennedy that her former fast-paced lifestyle just wasn’t working and that she was finding it impossible to balance working and motherhood in a way that felt natural to her.

She stated: “It used to be where I would work a lot more and so I really shifted my focus. I was feeling just really unhappy. I felt like I was on a hamster wheel. I felt like something needed to change.”

These days, Kardashian is able to strike more of a happy medium between supporting her family and spending quality time with her children. As she revealed: “I feel like I’ve finally gotten to the place where I can balance being a mom and working.”
