Kourtney Kardashian’s Comments About Refusing to Live Tweet ‘KUWTK’ Prove She’s Done With the Show
Kourtney Kardashian is done with Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Tensions hit an all-time high between her and her sisters in season 17 and culminated in a huge fight with Kim in season 18. Sharing so much of her personal life with the world eventually became overwhelming for Kourtney and things finally bubbled to the surface, allowing her to address the issues and make a decision about her future. Her comments about not live tweeting the Apr. 2 episode reveal a lot about how she’s feeling.
Kourtney and Kim got in a huge fight
By the end of season 17 of KUWTK, it was evident that Kourtney was really unhappy about having the cameras follow her, as she shared that there weren’t boundaries for her privacy. Her sisters Kim and Khloé weren’t thrilled with this because that meant they had to step up and work more to make up for Kourtney wanting to film less.
In the season 18 premiere, Kim made her thoughts about Kourtney’s work ethic very clear — setting off a huge fight between the two that turned very physical.
Kourtney explained why she was struggling
In one confessional, Kourtney explained the reasons behind her unhappiness. “I don’t understand why there’s all this judgment about the way we each want to live our lives. We should be accepted for what we each want to do,” she noted.
Kourtney continued, “It’s not a positive environment for me to want to be in every day when I feel like they’re so critical of me. Every day I’m coming in, I’m like, ‘Why am I choosing to be in this environment?’ And I think I just reached my point of not being able to tolerate it anymore.”
When she opened up to friends Malika and Khadijah Haqq during the episode, Kourtney shared more about what she was feeling. “I do feel like part of it is my own thing. I was anxious about filming this season,” she shared. “It doesn’t make me happy. I don’t want to miss out on time with my kids and it’s not worth it.”
She added, “It just seems like they put the show and work above my happiness and it causes a distance between us.”
Kourtney and Kim put their fight behind them and Kim came to better understand what her sister was going through. “She apologized and just explained that she’s extremely unhappy right now,” Kim explained. “We decided to put the drama aside and have a really historic trip to Armenia.”
During the trip, however, Kourtney didn’t appreciate the paparazzi and fan attention, saying, “I don’t like being a celebrity.”
Kourtney and Khloé talk it out
Then things took a turn with her sister Khloé when they returned home from their trip, as Khloé said Kourtney was “not even trying to make things right.”
“You cut me off when I’m sharing my feelings and that makes me angrier and more frustrated,” Khloé told Kourtney. “It’s not fair that you get what you want and other people can’t get a sincere apology out of you.”
Kourtney eventually addressed what was next for her. “I feel like I’m on this hamster wheel and it’s just not something I can continue to do,” she said. “I think some big changes need to happen… I’ve decided to take a big step back from filming and really just pick and choose what I will allow cameras to follow.”
She refused to live tweet
While her sisters were live tweeting the Apr. 2 episode of KUWTK, Kourtney decided not to, making it clear that her children are her priority right now. “I won’t be live tweeting #KUWTK tonight, as I’m spending time with my kids while they are on spring break,” she stated in a series of tweets. “I realize that a lot of the conversation right now surrounds my work ethic, and I feel like I need to just make one thing clear: raising children is a job as well.”
“In fact, it’s the hardest and most rewarding job that I have ever had. I’ve decided to put my focus on my kids and my lifestyle brand, Poosh, which is all about finding YOUR healthy balance for living your best life,” she added.
She shared, “I don’t judge anyone who chooses a different route, and I hope that everyone can appreciate my choices as well. With love, Kourt.”
