While attending the Fresh Air Fund’s Annual Spring Benefit honoring fashion designer, Tommy Hilfiger, Jenner explained the meaning behind her “adorable” new grandson’s name.
“The inspiration was the Book of Psalms in the Bible,” Jenner told Entertainment Tonight. “I think it’s just a wonderful way to celebrate how they feel.”
“And he’s such a blessing, so it’s perfect,”she added.
When asked about the cutest thing her new grandchild has done so far, Jenner couldn’t decide: “I don’t know, he’s just adorable!”
Kim Kardashian shared first photo of Psalm West
On social media, Kardashian shared the first picture of Psalm. She shared a screenshot of a text from her husband saying, “With the arrival of our fourth child. We are blessed beyond measure. We have everything we need,” along with a picture of Psalm cuddled up in his crib.
Why did Kim Kardashian and Kanye West choose a surrogate?
Kim Kardashian delivered her first two children — North and Saint West — naturally. She had complications which led her to seek out a surrogate for baby No. 3 Chicago West, and the newest addition to the family, Psalm West.
After experiencing complications with her first two pregnancies, Kardashian discussed the possibility of surrogacy.
In 2017 she told Allure, “I would like to [have another baby], but I’ve had lots and lots of complications.”
“I had preeclampsia. And then I also had something called placenta accreta. We’ve explored surrogacy. We’re thinking about it,” she added.
Preeclampsia causes high blood pressure and puts stress on the body’s organs. When left untreated it can lead to eclampsia, which can cause brain bleeds, a heart attack, other serious ailments or and in severe cases, even death, according to Self magazine.
Kardashian’s pregnancy complications were featured on the family’s reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
In one scene, Kardashian explained to her family that she wanted to undergo surgery to repair her uterus so she could have another baby. Sitting at the dinner table, Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the family, looked concerned as her daughter explained that if she had another baby, she’d have a high-risk pregnancy.
“Having more kids is definitely going to be a struggle. I’ve gone through so much with really bad deliveries that the doctors don’t feel like it’s safe for me to conceive again myself,” Kardashian explained in an interview for the show.
“This surgery is really the one last thing I can try. I want my kids to have siblings and I want them to know that I did everything I could to make this happen,” she added.
We know that Kardashian ultimately delivered her third and fourth children via a surrogate.
