Kris Jenner Wasn’t the Only Surprising Celebrity Guest at Jennifer Lawrence’s Wedding
Congratulations are in order! Jennifer Lawrence wed her fiancé Cooke Maroney, a 34-year-old art dealer, in a lavish ceremony in Rhode Island on October 19.
The couple tied the knot in front of 150 guests at the Belcourt of Newport, a glamorous gilded age mansion that was designed to resemble Louis XIII’s hunting lodge. The 29-year-old Lawrence reportedly wore a Dior gown while enjoying late-night snacks from Boston’s Baddest Burger and Sandwich Company. And as you’d expect from the wedding of an Oscar winner, the star-studded event attracted plenty of A-list guests.
Kris Jenner skipped her daughter’s birthday party to attend
Kris Jenner was among the many famous faces descending on Newport for the ceremony and reception. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star even skipped her daughter Kim’s 39th birthday party to spend the day celebrating the Hunger Games star instead.
Jenner, 63, attended with her boyfriend Corey Gamble. The invite isn’t all that surprising considering that Lawrence is a major KUWTK fan. She’s befriended the world’s most famous momager and even made an appearance on her Instagram.
Adele, Amy Schumer, and an Olsen twin also attended
Lawrence and Maroney’s reception apparently didn’t end until 5:30 a.m. Among the other high-profile guests partying the night away were Lawrence’s good friend Emma Stone and director David O. Russell, who the star worked with on Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, and Joy. The actress’s Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper was also in Rhode Island for the celebration.
Sienna Miller was also there, as was Ashley Olsen (thought there was no sign of her twin Mary-Kate). Both Benji and Joel Madden were on hand to toast the newlyweds, along with their wives Cameron Diaz and Nicole Richie.
Lawrence and Amy Schumer are also close, so of course the comedian was on hand for her friend’s big day, along with her husband Chris Fischer. “Chris and I had the best time,” she shared in a now-deleted Instagram photo. Lawrence was also present when Schumer tied the knot with Fischer in a surprise ceremony in February 2018, and Schumer was a supportive friend after Lawrence called it quits with director Darren Aronofsky in late 2017.
Singer Adele was also dancing the night away at Lawerence and Maroney’s reception. Earlier this year, the two dropped by a gay bar in New York’s Greenwich Village, much to the delight of the crowd. “She’s f*cking engaged!” the “Skyfall” singer announced to the other revelers.
Lawrence and Maroney started dating in 2018
Lawrence and her beau started dating in the spring of 2018 after being introduced by a mutual friend. The pair got serious fast. In February 2019, they announced their engagement after less than a year of dating.
The actress has keep fairly quiet about her romance with Maroney, but she did tell Entertainment Tonight that deciding to get married “was a very, very easy decision.”
“[H]e’s just the best person I’ve ever met in my whole life,” she said.
