Every Time Kristen Bell Got Real on Social Media

Some celebrities just know how to do social media right. Among them is Kristen Bell, everyone’s favorite actress, singer, and all-around hilarious human being.

Bell isn’t one for simply sharing glamour shots, though. She’s committed to giving a real look into her life and stripping away some of the Hollywood sheen. Here are some of these moments, as seen on Instagram.

During Hurricane Irma

Like so many others, Bell was stuck in Florida at a Disney resort when Hurricane Irma hit in September 2017. But she made the best of her situation — in her own way, of course.

The Frozen actress took it upon herself to highlight the hard-working staff around her, as well as use some of her own clout to help out. She took plenty of adorable photos and videos with the elderly, who were stuck there with her and used the hashtag #besthurricaneever to keep spirits up.

She loves animals

We all love our pets, and Bell is no exception. She often shares images of her dogs — especially Lola, her senior rescue, and promotes adoption over breeding.

Bell takes things even further and has fostered dogs before. She shared an image of her with a foster, Muppet, who she took care of through Eastwood Ranch, the rescue organization belonging to Clint Eastwood’s daughter, Ali.

She’s obsessed with Game of Thrones too

Just because she’s on TV doesn’t mean Bell doesn’t make time to watch her favorite shows. In fact, she’s a rabid member of one popular series: Game of Thrones.

Bell and her husband, Dax Shepard, have proven that they’re really, really dedicated to the fandom. They got to go to the premiere of Season 6 and even filmed a video of them “playing” instruments and acting out scenes, which they released in anticipation of Season 7.

… and Hamilton

Like the rest of America (and the world), Bell is a big fan of the musical Hamilton. And she’s taken to Instagram to share this fact on more than one occasion.

Bell posted numerous videos in March 2017 when she and Shepard went to see the show, and her excitement is palpable. Additionally, Bell joined in on the #Ham4All challenge, showing off her impressive pipes for a good cause by singing a song from the musical.

She’s always sharing her ‘mom hacks’

Bell is currently promoting her movie, A Bad Moms Christmas, a sequel to the raunchy comedy that shared what it’s really like to be a mother. And she’s eager to show that her real mom life isn’t exactly picture perfect, either.

Alongside simple hashtags like #momhacks, Bell shares her tips of the trade, like securing a diaper with a hair tie in a pinch or the clever way she keeps her kids safe while getting into the car. Celebrity moms — they’re just like us!

Talking about mental health

Bell uses a lot of her Instagram posts to promote brands and causes that she supports. While she may get paid for some of the ads, she gets real by sharing her personal feelings on issues that matter.

Among these causes is that of mental health. In April 2017, Bell shared a simple image for the BBC #1in4 campaign, to help “stop the stigma.”

This isn’t the first time Bell has spoken out on this issue: In 2016, she wrote an essay about her own experiences with depression and anxiety.

Her marriage isn’t perfect

No matter how much we think of Bell and Shepard as “#relationshipgoals,” no marriage is without issues. Bell expressed that in a 2017 interview with Men’s Journal, where she said that she felt monogamy can be “difficult.”

She’s also honest (and funny) when it comes to their disagreements, like in the case of what she dubbed the “#2017lazyboydebate.” Regardless, Bell and Shepard are clearly doing a lot of things right and love each other very much.
