Kristin Davis ‘Really Hated’ This One ‘Sex and the City’ Storyline
Kristin Davis, best known for her role as Charlotte York in the HBO series, Sex and the City, didn’t necessarily like all of her character’s storylines.
While we’re still wondering whether or not Charlotte could afford her luxurious Park Avenue apartment, Davis gave us more on the iconic series and her character. During a Nov. 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen! — complete with a phone call from her co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Bradshaw — the 54-year-old revealed a storyline for Charlotte from Season 3 of the iconic show that she couldn’t stand.
She ‘really, really hated’ a storyline from Season 3
When host Andy Cohen asked Davis for her least favorite Charlotte storyline, the actress worth an estimated $60 million didn’t hesitate before giving a response.
“I have a least favorite! There was this one time with this guy I’m having sex with had to shout, ‘b**ch, wh**e,’ in my face,” she told Cohen. “I really, really hated. I hated it. I hated it so much.”
In the episode Davis referenced, her character confronted the cute doctor about his language, which led to their break up, and subsequent therapy sessions for her former beau, according to Cosmopolitan.
What’s Davis’s latest acting role?
In the years since Sex and the City, Davis appeared on Broadway — she starred in a revival of The Best Man — and in 2016, she starred in the film, A Heavenly Christmas.
And she’s back doing a similar holiday-centered project this year. Davis went on Cohen’s talk show to promote her newest movie, Holiday in the Wild, a Netflix original she stars in opposite Rob Lowe, that’s available to stream right now. The title is among the many Christmas movies headed to the streaming service ahead of the holiday season.
‘Always brainstorming’ for third ‘Sex and the City’ movie
While Davis didn’t speak about the possibility of a third Sex and the City movie with Cohen, she has touched on it during other promotional interviews for Holiday in the Wild.
During an interview with People published on Nov. 6, 2019, Davis explained that Sex and the City will always be with her, even after Parker told fans in 2017 that a third movie based on the series wouldn’t happen.
“In my heart, it’s never too late, really,” she told the publication. “I’m an optimist, obviously. And I’m only speaking for myself. We did Sex and the City for so long, and we did love it so much.”
She continued saying that if the cast were to get back together for a new Sex and the City project, it could be structured differently from the previous movies.
“I feel like it doesn’t have to look like how it always looked before,” Davis said. “It doesn’t have to be a full-length feature. Maybe we could do a short! Maybe Carrie and Charlotte go to Africa. I mean, we are always brainstorming — so it’s never really gone in my heart and in my mind,” she added.
Here’s hoping an idea comes to fruition and we see more of Charlotte, Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon), Carrie, and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall).
