‘KUWTK’ Fans Share Their Initial Reactions To Season 17
Keeping Up With the Kardashians is one of those shows that, years ago, nobody expected would last as long as it has. However, 12 years later, the show is still being renewed — and the women have only become even more famous. Season 17 premiered on E! on September 8, and fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts about the newest season so far and what all of the women are going through.
‘KUWTK’ had a lot of unanswered questions after season 16
it seems that no matter how hard we try to keep up with the Kardashians, there is never a shortage of drama — or unanswered questions. At the end of season 16, Khloé Kardashian had just learned about the second cheating scandal involving her ex, Tristan Thompson, and Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods. When the season comes to a close, Khloé is still trying to figure out where her life is going. Kourtney, on the other hand, has learned to enjoy the company of Sofia Richie, Scott Disick’s girlfriend, though her friends and family seem to think the three of them spending time together is a bit weird. But all in all, things in Kourtney’s world seem to be going well — though season 17 brings out some of Kourtney’s rawest emotions.
Khloé still reels from the aftermath of the second cheating scandal
When season 17 kicks off, it’s April, and Khloé is still trying to come to grips with Thompson cheating a second time. But she’s planning True’s first birthday party, and though she’s hesitant to invite Thompson, she goes ahead so as to not cut him out of his daughter’s life. However, the reunion between the two (she hadn’t seen Tristan since the news broke) is filled with a lot of stress, and things get the best of her by the end of True’s birthday. She starts crying and wishes her daughter’s birthday hadn’t turned into something filled with so much negative emotion. And fans are quick to sympathize with her.
Season 17 has already seen more emotion from Kim and Kourtney Kardashian than usual
Kim has had her share of mental breakdowns on the show, but nothing is scarier than thinking something is wrong with your health. Kim broke down in season 17’s first episode after learning she might have rheumatoid arthritis — or lupus. With a baby on the way and a ton of business to do, it only hypes up the worry. And Kourtney is about turn 40, though the concern over getting older doesn’t weigh as heavily as her concern about feeling like something is missing. She teared up when she started talking about feeling like she had failed for not having a more constructed life by now. Fans could easily relate to Kourtney’s struggle.
Fans are loving all of the emotion in the season so far
As the Kardashians grow up, they seem to only get more real on television. They don’t hide the troubles they go through; they allow things to be filmed so those who love and support them can see that not everything is perfect, despite all of the fame. And based on fan reactions on social media, people are already loving all the emotion this season. Nobody would have thought a measly 30-minute reality show back in 2007 would have brought so much fame (and happiness and pain) to these women’s lives, but fans are totally here for them in everything they go through — and everything that comes out during season 17.
