‘KUWTK’: Khloé Kardashian Says the Reality Show Was Never Supposed to Get a Second Season
Keeping Up with the Kardashians has become a cultural phenomenon. When the reality series first debuted in 2007, those in the law-world knew about the Kardashian siblings’ late father, Robert Kardashian, Sr. Kim Kardashian West was also known as Paris Hilton’s assistant. However, the series would introduce the entire world to her massive blended family, giving her siblings and her parents a colossal platform.
For almost 20 seasons, we’ve watched the friends, heartbreaks, joys, and trials of the Skims founder, her mother, Kris Jenner, Caitlyn Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner.
The show has allowed them all to expand their family empire and their individual mega-watt businesses. However, Khloé Kardashian just revealed that the show, which is finally coming to an end, was never supposed to get a second season.
Why is ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ ending?
For years, the eldest Kardashian-Jenner sibling Kourtney has discussed the pitfalls of fame and wanting a more private life. She’s even come to blows with her sisters Kim and Khloé as a result. Now, it seems that the rest of the family is on board about closing this chapter in their lives.
“Sometimes we just need a break,” Kardashian West told Grazia USA. “It’s really simple. We just need a minute to regroup. You know, we haven’t had a break for 14 years. We’ve gone in filming a season, then a spin off and I think there’s no other way to say it other than, we just live such big lives. And we have kids now. And they need us.”
However, don’t expect the KarJenners to be gone from your TVs for long. They’ve already signed a deal with Hulu. However, the KKW Beauty founder insists that it’s not for a reality show.
Khloé Kardashian struggled the most with ‘KUWTK’ ending
From the beginning, Khloé Kardashian has been one of the most beloved members of the KarJenner family. Fans loved her for her hilarious tone, and candid demeanor. Over the years, fans have also watched her transform into a mother and businesswoman.
Showcasing the ups and downs in her life, the Good American founder has never been afraid to be vulnerable. “I think at this point, so many people know so much about me and everything occurring in my life that it’s difficult to overshare!” she told Cosmopolitan U.K. “There are definitely points for some situations where boundaries do have to be set, but overall my life has always been a pretty open book.”
Kris Jenner has also revealed that the 36-year-old has had the most difficult time with the show ending. “I think Khloé [Kardashian] …is probably the one who is taking it the hardest and really hasn’t stopped crying since we announced,” she told Ryan Seacrest in an interview via Bustle. “She’s been so sweet and just emotional about it.”
Khloé Kardashian says ‘KUWTK’ was never supposed to get a second season
From marriages and divorces, business and babies, the KarJenner family has come a long way since KUWTK first premiered all of those years ago. In fact, it’s a miracle that it lasts this long since they were never supposed to get a second season.
“We were supposed to just be a filler show without a second season,” Khloé tells Cosmo UK. “So when we were filming [season one] we just didn’t really think anything of it. And I think that’s what made it so much fun. We’ve also had pretty much the same production crew throughout, so all of the memories and friendships over the years created with them and my family has been the best,”
