Kylie Jenner’s Daughter Stormi Rushed to the Hospital: What Happened?
Kylie Jenner had a health scare with her daughter Stormi over the weekend, as her 1-year-old required a trip to the hospital. Jenner took to Instagram to let fans know what happened and assure her followers that Stormi is doing okay now. It was definitely a mom’s worst nightmare though.
Why did Stormi go to the hospital?
Jenner shared some of the details about their day at the hospital and the reason behind it, noting in her Instagram Story: “Spent the day in the hospital with my baby. She had an allergic reaction but is 100% okay now and we are home.”
She added: “Nothing else matters when these things happen. God bless all the moms with sick babies. I’m sending so much love and positive energy your way.”
In another Instagram post, Jenner noted: “Blessed beyond words. Thank you God. I believe in being a reflection of what you’d like to receive. If you want love, give love. If you want success, wish success.”
Jenner is definitely a caring mom
While Jenner didn’t share the specifics of the allergic reaction, it’s clear that she’s attentive and caring, so she took the right steps given her daughter’s health scare. You can never be too careful when it comes to your child’s health.
When Stormi turned 1, in addition to having a massive birthday party, Jenner posted a sweet tribute to her little one, writing: “How did I get so lucky to have such a sweet, smart, happy baby. I just couldn’t have dreamt you up, Storm. I wish you could stay this little forever and I could protect that contagious smile and laugh of yours. I know you won’t remember much about the first year of your life but I pray that you’ll never forget to keep sharing your joy and laughter with the world. My love grows for you a thousand miles a minute. Every day with you is the best day of my life. Happy birthday to my angel on earth.”
On International Women’s Day, Jenner shared a sweet pic with baby Stormi and explained, “this little girl motivates me every day to become the best woman i can be.”
When does an allergic reaction require a trip to the hospital?
According to the website Kids Health, allergic reactions can be caused by food, medicine, pets, and insect stings and “most allergic reactions aren’t serious.” The site does note that “severe reactions can be life-threatening and need immediate medical care,” however.
Mild symptoms of an allergic reaction include itching, redness of the sin, stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, and hives. More severe symptoms that would require a call to the doctor or hospital visit are, according to the site, swelling of the mouth or tongue, trouble swallowing or speaking, wheezing or trouble breathing, dizziness or fainting, as well as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
The most severe allergic reaction is anaphylaxis, in which a person feels like their throat is closing and they have trouble breathing. The Life Signs website notes that a trip to the hospital emergency room is important for an allergic reaction that involves hives all over your body and/or if you are having problems breathing.
