Kylie Jenner Got Defensive About Her Breakup with Travis Scott
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you likely know that Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have ended their two-year relationship. The news broke on Oct. 1, with sources saying that they split due to their conflicting schedules and lifestyles.
Jenner didn’t say much publicly about their split. But behind closed doors, she reportedly opened up to her family members. One of the people she allegedly talked to is her 93-year-old grandmother Esther, who said in a new report that Jenner got defensive when telling her about the breakup.
A look back at Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s relationship and breakup
Jenner and Scott started dating almost immediately after they met at Coachella in April 2017. Shortly after, they conceived their daughter, Stormi Webster, who was born on Feb. 1, 2018.
From there, the relationship seemed to go from strength to strength, with sources claiming that Jenner and Scott had even discussed marriage. But on Oct. 1, TMZ reported that the pair had split. Insiders claimed that they broke up over Scott’s alleged refusal to settle down with Jenner and expand their family.
But while the romantic aspect of their relationship did not work out, Jenner and Scott still share a platonic bond. They are committed to co-parenting and raising Stormi in a healthy way.
Jenner reassured fans that she and Scott are doing OK in a tweet posted on Oct. 3. She wrote: “Travis and I are on great terms and our main focus right now is Stormi!! Our friendship and our daughter is priority.”
Scott, on the other hand, has not said much. But he’s also shown that he and Jenner are on good terms. Back in October, they celebrated Halloween as a family, and they spent Thanksgiving together.
Kylie Jenner’s grandmother speaks out
Esther, who is Caitlyn Jenner’s mom, spoke with The Sun about the breakup in an interview published on Nov. 28.
“I was sympathizing with Kylie a short time ago about the breakup with the baby’s father [Travis],” Esther explained. “Kylie just smoothed over it real quickly, [saying] ‘We’re both going to be good parents to her’ like in defense almost.”
The outlet reported that Esther believes Travis should have tried to marry Jenner and really commit to her. “But that’s what happens really, so often,” she continued. “Young people today, they think they can live together, start a family together, without being married, it doesn’t work! I don’t know.”
“We’ll get married soon. I just gotta sturdy up — I gotta propose in a fire way,” he told the publication.
But sources claim that his interests eventually started to change.
One insider told Us Weekly on Nov. 26: “He wanted to be able to live his life and travel and be with other people and not have to worry about always going back to his family.”
Married or not, at least Jenner and Scott are keeping things friendly and putting on a united front. We’re sure Stormi appreciates it.
