Kylie Jenner Reveals the Parenting Lesson That Was “a Lot to Take in” After Giving Birth to Stormi
Over the years, Jenner had made it pretty clear that she was going to have her first child long before she turned 30. Then, in February 2018, the reality star gave birth to her daughter at the tender age of 20.
Though she is a young mom, there’s no denying that Jenner has loved every second of motherhood and continues to embrace the mommy-lifestyle, despite having had to learn some tough parenting lessons in the beginning.
Many questioned if Jenner was ready to be a mom
In February 2018, Jenner shocked the entire world when she revealed that she and then-boyfriend, Travis Scott, had welcomed their first child together. A daughter named Stormi.
Though many were quick to congratulate for the young couple, others couldn’t get over the initial shock that Jenner was even pregnant.
You see, before announcing that she’d given birth to her daughter, Jenner kept her entire pregnancy hidden away from the public eye.
While she simply just wanted some privacy, the Kylie Cosmetics CEO previously revealed that that wasn’t the only reason why she remained pretty low-key during those nine months.
“I knew that it would be better for us, if me and Stormi just stayed kind of low-key,” she said during an August 2018 interview with Vogue Australia. “Your hormones are going crazy and your emotions are more heightened, and I just felt like I wasn’t prepared to … I just knew that it would be better for me, and I could enjoy the whole experience if I did it privately. I just felt like it was a sacred special moment and I wasn’t ready to share it with everybody. I just wanted to keep that to myself.”
After welcoming her baby girl, Jenner was over the moon that she’d finally fulfilled her dream of being a mom.
Though many fans were happy for the makeup mogul, others questioned if she was even ready to take care of a child on her own.
While speaking to Interview magazine in March 2019, Jenner revealed that she was constantly asked, “Are you ready for this?” But despite fans’fans’ doubts, Jenner’sJenner’s always been confident that she was born to be a mother.
“I always knew I wanted to be a young mother,” she told the outlet. “I remember people used to always ask: ”Are you ready for this?” And I always knew I was ready, but you don’t know what that love and that feeling is like until after you have a child.”
Motherhood has changed her for the better
Though she didn’t really know why people kept asking her this question at first, Jenner finally understood what everyone meant after having Stormi.
Once she welcomed her little girl into the world, Jenner realized that life no longer revolved around herself and that the level of selflessness required to be a parent was going to take some getting used to.
“She really comes before me, so that is a lot to take in at a young age, but I feel like I was definitely made for this and she’s changed my life for the better,” the reality star expressed. “The way that I look at things is a lot more positive and I really feel like my life didn’t start until I had her.”
From what we can tell, it didn’t take long at all for Jenner to get used to motherhood, and so far, she’s been doing a fantastic job raising Stormi.
Over these past two years, everything the reality star has done, she’s had her daughter’s best interests in mind.
Granted, Jenner still gets mom-shamed every now and again, but there’s no denying that she always puts Stormi first and has embraced every aspect that comes along with being a mother.
