As much as Kylie Jenner is known for her billionaire status, her Kylie Beauty cosmetics brand, her lavish car collection, and her multicolored wigs, she’s also known for her insanely-long signature nails. For the past several years, Jenner has been wearing ultra-long coffin-shaped nails in all kinds of bold colors, prints, and designs.
Jenner typically isn’t seen with the same nail color or design for too long. In fact, she schedules a nail appointment about once a week to switch things up. Though she loves to switch up her look — many fans are not at all delighted by Jenner’s nail obsession.
In fact in 2018, shortly after giving birth to her daughter, Stormi Webster, fans mom-shamed the Keeping Up with the Kardashians starlet saying she could harm her baby with such long talons.
This is Kylie Jenner’s nail artist
Celebrity Nail Artist Chaun Legend is the person behind Jenner’s ever-changing manicure. Legend has been doing Jenner’s nails for years, and he recently did everything from her Christmas look to Halloween look. From his Instagram, it’s clear that Legend uses gel to get the makeup mogul’s varied nail looks.
He also just snagged a massive collab with Aprés Nail Official. “It’s finally here!!! I’m so excited to share with you guys my collab with @apresnailofficial,” he gushed on YouTube. “Now you can get the look of my signature sculpted shape minus all the work…in half the time Complete Kit will be available 1/25/20.”
Kylie Jenner fans have accused her of cultural appropriation
From the long-nails to the ever-changing wigs — Jenner has long been accused of stealing her style and aesthetic from Black women and co-opting it as her own. It doesn’t help that fans have accused Jenner of having nails that look like marker caps.
In a recent IG post, Jenner shared her multi-colored nails. One hand was painted purple and the other pink. Unfortunately, her fans were less than impressed with the shape and sculpt. “That doesn’t look good. The size and shape is not proportioned well” one fan wrote. “Kylie you are so rich and your nails look like Stormi’s blocks,” another person commented. “All that [money] and you picked squared nails,” another said. “They look like marker caps,” another fan quipped.
Inside Kylie Jenner’s Stormi-inspired nails
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s daughter Stormi will turn 2-years-old on Feb. 1 and Jenner is already celebrating. In addition to a trip to Disney World and a butterfly-themed garden party, Jenner will launch her Kylie Cosmetics Stormi Collection. The collection is wrapped in butterflies and includes three mini lip kits, a mini eye shadow palette, a mini high gloss set, and a pressed powder blush.
Of course, Jenner got a matching manicure that was inspired by the pinks and lavenders of the collection. The 22-year old shared a snap of her new mani on her IG story saying, “Stormi Collection nails for my baby’s celebration tomorrow.”
Jenner sported the nails throughout Stormi’s fairy-garden party which was filled with magical butterflies, a ball pit, a garden vine swing, and tons of other magical delights.
