Does Kylie Jenner Want Stormi Webster To Take Over Kylie Cosmetics?
She’s well on her way to official billionaire status now that she’s sold her company. Kylie Jenner has been the face of Kylie Cosmetics since she launched back in 2015 with her iconic Lip Kits. Since then, the reality starlet has expanded her company into a vast array of products including a skincare car line — aptly named Kylie Skin.
Now — Kylie Cosmetics is headed in a new direction. Jenner just sold 51% of her company to Coty — the company that owns CoverGirl, OPI, Rimmel, and Sally Hansen for a massive sum of $600 million. Though many people saw this move as a step back for the makeup mogul — it’s quite the opposite. An insider told Hollywood Life,
Kylie did not sell the majority of her company because she wants to step back, but rather because she sees this as an incredible opportunity to help grow her cosmetics and skin line even further than before. She is going to remain just as hands-on with the line, but she decided to team up with Coty in order to continue growing her empire. Kylie is super excited about this next phase of her brand, and she looks forward to seeing where it goes next.
Transforming the company from Kylie Cosmetics into Kylie Beauty could be a way for Jenner to begin building her legacy.
Kylie Jenner’s daughter Stormi may take over Kylie Beauty one day
With a new phase of her business — Jenner is setting the blueprint for her daughter, Stormi, to take the reigns the company one day if she so chooses. “The goal is to just keep building Kylie’s existing beauty business into a global powerhouse brand,” Kris Jenner told CNBC. “And this is what she wants to do for the rest of her life. She talks about it all the time. Twenty years from now, she sees herself doing this and maybe passing it down to her daughter.”
Stormi Webster already loves playing with makeup
Though she’s only 1 -year-old –watching her mother constantly play in makeup has already sparked Stormi’s creativity. “Stormi is actually super into makeup right now,” Jenner revealed in a YouTube video entitled, “My Everyday Makeup Look.” “It’s amazing. Every time I’m wearing lipstick she notices. She looks at me and says, ‘lip lip lip.’ She might not even want to wear makeup,” Kylie continued. “But honestly, how things are going, this girl is obsessed with makeup. She begs me at this point.”
Kylie Beauty is now worth billions of dollars
Now that Jenner has sold more than half of her empire — Kylie Beauty is now worth $1.2 billion. The makeup mogul said it a press statement about the deal, “I’m excited to partner with Coty to continue to reach even more fans of Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin around the world. I look forward to continuing the creativity and ingenuity for each collection that consumers have come to expect and engaging with my fans across social media.”
In 2019 alone, the 22-year-old pulled in an astounding $170 million making her the second-highest-paid celebrity of 2019, following Taylor Swift.
