Kylie Jenner’s Fans Question Why She Keeps Using Filters if Her Cosmetics Are so Great
If you’ve been keeping up with Kylie Jenner over the years then you know that she promotes her Kylie Cosmetics brand often. But lately, a number of fans have wondered why the youngest of the Kar-Jenner siblings chooses to advertise the makeup products via social media while using filters in her posts.
If you think that defeats the purpose then you’re not alone, and now some are questioning just how good the cosmetics really are if Jenner has to have a filter on to promote them.
Jenner is using filters and fans can tell
On Aug. 1, Jenner took to Twitter and Instagram to announce that her products are now available at Ulta Beauty stores nationwide. Anyone watching the video could immediately see that the reality star was definitely using a filter in the short clip.
“My products are clean and vegan and gorgeous, and I know you guys are gonna love it,” Jenner said.
But it’s hard for some fans to make an informed decision about if they should go out and spend money on the products knowing that the president of Kylie Cosmetics added a heavy filter to her already made-up look.

As The Things noted, Jenner has stated that it takes three and a half hours to get her makeup done so you would think that she wouldn’t want to even put on a filter after getting so glammed up. But her decision to do so led fans right to the comments section to talk about the video.
“If her products are so damn good why does she need to use crappy filters? I’m just wondering,” one follower asked.
“WHY IS SHE WEARING A FILTER??” another inquired.
“Seriously lol, u make [a] promo for your makeup with a filter on top? You don’t like yourself with only your makeup that you promote it?” a third user wrote.
A fourth fan posted: “All that work and she still gotta use a filter.”
Kylie Cosmetics has been extremely successful for her no matter how she promotes it
Apparently, lots of people are taking Kylie’s word for just how great her products are, filter or no filter. The collection is so successful and well known now that it doesn’t even need a plug to her millions of followers.
After the launch of her Lip Kits in 2015, the former Keeping Up With the Kardashians star expanded the collection with Kylie Skin and Kylie Baby as well. She sold a majority stake of the company to Coty for $600 million in November 2019 but said the cosmetic line was always a passion project for her not about making money.
“I don’t really do it to make money or think that far into the future if this is going to be super-successful. I just knew my talents and was passionate about make-up and lips and lipsticks,” Jenner previously told Arabian Harper’s Bazaar. “It’s been a real love of mine for as long as I can remember. I never even knew that you can really turn your passion into a business, you know. I just followed my heart and went with how I felt. Now I just feel so blessed every day to wake up, have fun doing what I love and make a career out of it. It’s amazing.”
