Lady Gaga’s Dog-Napping Case Featured on ‘America’s Most Wanted’
Following the harrowing ordeal of Lady Gaga’s dog-napping case and shooting, police updated the public about the investigation.
Koji and Gustav were later returned unharmed, but the perpetrators remained at large. Now, America’s Most Wanted is shining a light on the case during its premiere episode in the hopes that viewers will provide tips via the TV show.
Lady Gaga’s dogwalker was shot during robbery
In what turned out to be one of the strangest and most alarming headlines in February, Lady Gaga’s dogwalker was shot while out with her three dogs. Two were stolen.
The singer was out of the country filming a movie in Rome when the incident happened, and days later, the two French bulldogs were recovered.
They held him at gunpoint and after a struggle, they shot him in the chest. The pair fled with two pups after leaving Fischer on the sidewalk in a pool of blood.
He was rushed to the hospital for treatment and in the aftermath, Lady Gaga praised and thanked Fischer for risking his life. She also offered a $500,000 reward for her dogs’ return. A woman dropped them off at the police station, but it is unclear whether she claimed the reward.
Fischer survived the attack and is still recovering. Still, a man was violently gunned down while the dog-snatching was committed.
‘America’s Most Wanted’ highlights Lady Gaga dog case
America’s Most Wanted originally aired from 1988 to 2013 until Fox canceled the true crime series. The network resurrected it in 2021 and its first episode premiered on March 15 with host Elizabeth Vargas.
Using new technology and the power of social media, the show hopes to draw in viewers who are willing to help capture fugitives and other dangerous suspects. In the premiere, Vargas spoke about the rash of violent dog-nappings happening around the country.
Among them was the attack connected to Fischer and Lady Gaga. Surveillance footage of the actual incident aired, and it showed Fischer being accosted by two people who retreated in a white car. Screams could also be heard in the video.
One person held Fischer as the other shot him before they both left with the dogs. According to AMW, the suspects were described as men in their 20s.
The report mentioned that French and English bulldogs often cost $10,000 and the authorities believe money was the motive. Viewers can contact the Los Angeles Police Department or America’s Most Wanted at 1-833-3-AMW-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted via the show’s website.
Ryan Fischer gave an update on his condition
On March 1, Fischer shared an update on Instagram in a series of posts. He thanked his family, friends, clients, and the general public for their support. He also acknowledged the neighbors who called for help and Lady Gaga’s dog Asia who stayed by his side.
Fischer relayed that he wanted the police and media to focus on the dogs’ safe return, and he thanked Lady Gaga for being a sweet, unwavering friend throughout the situation.
America’s Most Wanted new season airs each Monday at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
