Lady Gaga Might Have a New Boyfriend — And It’s Not Who You Think It Is
Did you hear? Lady Gaga might have a new boyfriend after splitting from her ex-fiancé, Christian Carino, earlier this year.
On July 28, the “Bad Romance” singer was spotted making out with audio engineer Dan Horton, 37, during an intimate brunch date. Some onlookers spilled the details to People magazine, telling the publication that Gaga and Horton absolutely, most definitely appeared to be “more than friends.”
So, sorry, Little Monsters — it looks like she and Bradley Cooper don’t have anything going on after all.
Lady Gaga and Horton shared a sweet moment
While brunching at a restaurant in Studio City, California, Lady Gaga and Horton shared several kisses. At one point, the 33-year-old singer got up and bent over to kiss the audio engineer as he sat at the table, wrapping her arms around him lovingly. As they were leaving, photographers caught the Joanne crooner grinning from ear-to-ear while walking next to her reported love interest.
A source dining near the two told People that they “seemed confident and in a good place.” Another source said the couple dined for an hour and enjoyed a deep conversation. “They were kissing as they spoke really close up,” the source said.
“Ironically, she had a table in the front near the sidewalk, so she was clearly okay with being seen,” the second insider continued. “She seemed very happy when interacting with the guy she was with.”
Who is Horton exactly?
As People notes, the 37-year-old has a pretty impressive resume. He’s worked under Lady Gaga as a monitor engineer since November 2018, but she’s not the only big-name star that he’s worked with. The Nashville-based creative has also worked with people like Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, and Bruno Mars.
Horton has been married at least once. Most recently, he was married to actress Autumn Guzzardi, who currently has a role in the off-Broadway musical Rock of Ages. They tied the knot in 2013 and seemingly broke up three years later.
His rumored romance with the singer comes just months after sources confirmed in February that Lady Gaga and Carino had called off their engagement. “It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end,” a source said at the time. “There’s no long dramatic story.”
Fans believed she had something going on with Cooper
No one can deny the chemistry between Lady Gaga and Cooper in their 2018 film A Star Is Born. It was so intense that fans believed the two were into each other in real life.
Those rumors only peaked when they performed an emotional rendition of their hit song “Shallow” during the Academy Awards back in February. But the singer pushed back on the speculation. “Yes, people saw love and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see…When you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel,” Gaga explained.
Unfortunately, though, the rumors continued — especially when Cooper’s relationship with his longtime love, Irina Shayk, reportedly ended in June.
But she and Cooper are friends
While they’ve denied romance rumors, they do share a unique bond.
“She knows everything about me — everything. There is not one thing she doesn’t know, and I believe the same for me,” Cooper told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s just so funny how life works. It’s like, ‘So in five years you guys will be inseparably close.’”
Gaga told TIME she sensed a kinship with Cooper immediately. “From the moment we met, I felt a kindred spirit in him,” she said. She also said she immediately loved his musical talents. “As soon as I heard him sing, I stopped dead in my tracks. I knew he could play a rock star. Actually, he’s the only actor on the planet who could play this one,” she continued.
So, while she may be moving on to someone other than Cooper, it seems like they’ll always be good friends. And that’s better than nothing.
