Lala Kent’s Fiance Won’t Appear on ‘Vanderpump Rules’ but Shows Up on ‘Flipping Out?’
The mystery “man” Lala Kent from Vanderpump Rules is engaged to won’t show his face on her Bravo reality show. But he’ll dive right into another Bravo show without a life vest.
Randall Emmett, Kent’s fiance went all in on Flipping Out. His role: a Jeff Lewis Design client. Vanderpump Rules fans have been teased for a few seasons about who Kent was dating. There were episodes even dedicated to whether or not Emmett made some cast member sign nondisclosure agreements when partying or hanging out with him.
But now the cat is (sort of) out of the bag on Bravo. And while Kent finally went public with her relationship, Flipping Out gave fans the first glimpse of him. Does this first appearance mean he’ll be part of Kent’s show?
Who is Randall Emmett?
Emmett is a film executive and producer with a net worth of about $16 million. Some of his film credits include End of Watch starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Silence starring in Andrew Garfield. He surprised Kent with a sweet 6-carat engagement ring that cost $150,000. But the ring is in addition to other expensive swag he gives Kent. This includes a Range Rover, in addition to other designer garb.
And oh, shocker: Kent is now acting! She recently appeared in the horror flick, The Row. Guess who produced it?
Will he be on Vanderpump Rules?
Since he made his Bravo debut on Flipping Out, certainly Emmett will join the Vanderpump gang, right? Not really, according to Vanderpump cast member, Scheana Shay. “Never. No,” Shay told US Weekly when asked if Emmett will be on the show. “He’s one of our favorite people to hang out with. He’s so much fun, such a great personality, absolutely obsessed with her. They are a very good match.”
One sticking point, and possibly why Kent didn’t reveal Emmett’s identity is his recent divorce. Emmett was officially divorced from ex-wife Ambyr Childers in December 2017, according to Page Six. While Kent often battled with cast members about her “man’s” marital status, Emmett was separated from Childers in 2015. But rescinded in 2016. The couple finally filed for divorce in January 2017. But Emmett was already dating Kent at that time.
Why was Emmett on ‘Flipping Out?’
Emmett and Kent bought their new love crib and hired Lewis to do the redesign. Lewis connected with Emmett through Emmett’s former neighbor, actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Lewis personally met with Emmett at the couple’s home. And as Lewis walked through the house, making suggestions, Emmett’s face continued to drop. The men tried to muddle through tile and flooring suggestions alone but ended up bringing Kent in through FaceTime.
Kent was quick to make decisions and seemed to be in synch with Lewis. Emmett is seen laughing nervously off to the side as Lewis and Kent make fast decisions on design and finishes. After Emmett signs off with Kent he asks Lewis about furniture. But Lewis says, “I’m going to talk to the boss on Friday (meaning Kent).”
When Lewis meets Kent in real life they are working in harmony. In fact, Lewis gets Kent to support him in other decisions, like updating the roof. Hold onto that $16 million Emmett, because it seems to be going into the house!
